Freshman Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., told Newsmax Wednesday that "for the first time since the '60s, Republicans are actually courting" Black voters and that Black voters are increasingly giving GOP candidates a chance.

"Our party is really becoming the party of all Americans," Donalds said during an appearance on Newsmax's "The Record With Greta Van Susteren." "It always has been, but I think what we've seen, in a year where policy matters, where actual outcomes do matter, and where the Democrats' radical agenda just has failed so many Americans, more Black people are saying, 'You know what? It's time to give Republicans a chance because the Democrats have failed us.'"…
…"Right now, the Democrats just take advantage of Black votes. They take them for granted," the Florida Republican added. "They're not coming up with policies that are addressing the plight of building wealth for people on the lower end of the socioeconomic spectrum."

    T
hanks go to Newsmax for reporting the comments Congressman Donald’s made this evening. He is exactly right. The GOP is finally trying to appeal to African Americans for votes with better policy ideas. Democrats haven’t had to compete for the African American vote in over 60 years.

Democrats have taken African American voters for granted each election and then do nothing to earn those votes. Places democrats have controlled for 60-100 years or more have not been beneficial to African American citizens, their economy, their education, their housing, or anything else. It’s time to give the new multiracial working and middle class coalition a chance.

It is amazing that the Republicans ever lost the black vote. There sin was that back in the 60's, when some of the racist Democrats left the Democrat party that the Republicans accepted them into their party. Not all the racist's left. Some like Byrd
and Biden stayed on in the Democrat party because they had power. Johnson seen the writing on the wall and was able to pass the Civil Right's Act but it wasn't without the Republicans support. The pub's let the Dem's take the glory and the migration of the black vote was on it's way. If you were to ask most blacks today what party alway's stood up for them since this country was founded they would say Democrat. Honestly most would say Lincoln was a democrat. The facts are most of the racist states were run by Democrats and still have a strong Democrat base of whites. Half of my family and friends from my generation vote Democrat because they have bought the narrative that the Democrats are for the poor and the rich corporate republicans want to keep them oppressed.

The majority of blacks I know are against homosexuality and lesbianism. The majority of blacks I know are against same sex marriage. The majority of blacks I know are against trans-genderism. The majority of blacks I know are very religious. The majority of blacks I know are against crime and the release of criminals on the street. Just like white people and other minorities they have bread and butter issues, rising prices on energy related issues like home heating and cooling costs, safety in their homes and on the streets, education of their children and safty in their schools, affordable health care and prescription costs. So here it is over 60 years later and they still don't have many of those things. I say to the black community it is about time to cross the isle and become part of the party and elect more black and minority Republicans so that you have more of a say at the table. It is not so much about Democrat vs Republican as it is about values.

Good perspective. I think it is guaranteed that the GOP will add to its number of African American US House members. A candidate in Texas and another in Michigan are almost certain to be elected. We shall see if we can add more to go into the House with the gentlemen from Utah and Florida.

Sounds like they don’t plan to do anything different except for blaming democrats for all black peoples problems. Did I miss some specifics that weren’t the gop platform for the last 40 years?

The piece you linked is idiotic. Black politicians get republican votes by talking about personal responsibility, family and speaking positively about our country.

I'm sure "blackness" to a white democrat means an idiot class of people who cannot wipe themselves. That was what Joe Biden was talking about when he said any black person considering voting for Trump is not black.

So go ahead and define "blackness" for us. I cannot wait.

I'm not trying to be mean but pushing out unqualified or barely qualified black candidates accomplishes nothing.

Hershel Walker is a terrible candidate who will likely lose that Georgia senate seat to the democrats for another 6 years.

Remember Kim Klacik? She was all the buzz when she ran that ad in Baltimore walking in some real crappy neighborhoods. She got 25% of the vote.

She is a business woman with no real business and never finished her college degree and wanted to be in the US congress.

More black Americans wake up more and more every day. Many have realized that Democrats have lied to them in order to enslave them, while simultaneously claiming to be woke about past slavery. The left are willing to drive blacks to the polls to vote but, afterward, blacks see that they are paying more for everything and wonder what in the hell it was they voted for. How are Democrats making their lives better? They can't afford rent, groceries, or gas anymore.

You can stop dreaming now. Time to wake up.

Whatever struggles the average black person has they will just blame republicans, white people and capitalism. They are brain washed from birth.

    They voted for this creep!

Understand the 2020 election. Hillary lost in 2016 because she did horrible with white people. Only 37% of whites voted for her.

So to counter that democrats run(Propped up his dead body) a total pos white Casper racist. It worked, Biden got 41% of the white vote a solid improvement. He also still got 87% of the black vote.

John Kerry got 88% of the black vote.

You run Hitler as a democrat and 80% of blacks will vote for him.

As I said, every day more and more blacks wake up. It doesn't happen overnight and it is a long process.

You would think that a person that says "black people are too dumb to know better" would be intelligent enough to Spell Herschel Walkers name correctly.
    Obviousy not.

I wonder how many posts referring to all white people as slavers or calling white people dumb have been removed. I guess they call it privilege.

So let me say it in a way that does not violate forum rules.

Any group of people with an average IQ below 90 is unintelligent in my opinion.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Average

I'm pretty consistent here. Smart people are not oppressed by less intelligent people. My opinion but also history.

WTF is your point? Walker is a horrible candidate with poor skills and a history of mental illness. Pushing him forward because he was a hero football player was a big mistake for republicans because he will lose.

Yes, I agree that he is an unqualified candidate for the Senate.
And yes, he will probably lose.
I just wanted you to spell his name correctly.
