Looks like bonehead Pelosi is destroying foreign relations by meddling in the China v Taiwan situation.

Did she choose the wrong side?

 

Biden already did that when he said the US would use military force if China invades Taiwan. Pelosi's visit served to reinforce that obligation. The only one to blame if there is blame to go around is Biden.

 

Not defending this evil woman but I am not sure what China can accomplish by sanctioning US diplomats. China has absolutely no power outside of China to freeze or seize assets unless Pelosi has a business operations in China. This is laughable at best.

 

One of the few times I'm glad Pelosi followed her gut. The chicoms do not dictate where we can travel.

We should just confiscate any property or business China owns in our land and sell to the highest bidder.

Now, I don't think Trump would have bothered having a meeting with Taiwan which means none of this would have been sparked but if he did want a meeting with Taiwan and China told him no...he would have handled this much the same.

Well Nancy should have never put herself in this gd position thus destablizing the region. Trump wouldn't have even planned the trip because of that fact. But if he HAD to go and China said no, he would have handled this like Pelosi. Nancy didn't need to do this trip. That's where she ****ed up in the mind of SK.

No the policy has always been to recognize a One China. Never understood what that meant but Biden was the first president to say the US would use military force if China invaded Taiwan. How can China take Taiwan if the US recognizes Taiwan is part of China?

“Yes,” the president answered.

“That’s the commitment we made. We agree with the ‘one China’ policy. We signed on to it,” Biden added. “All the attendant agreements [were] made from there. But the idea that that can be taken by force, just taken by force. It’s just not — it’s just not appropriate.”

 

Reread my post. China was not the direct object in that sentence. Thus you are not accused of adoring China.

 

Except that whole trade embargo placed by the previous administration. Frankly, when we exported our entire industry to the Chinese via WTO and Nafta, the 90's was our own lost generation of illiberal economic policies pursued in a bipartisan fashion by Reagan, Bush and Clinton. Free trade is a fallacy, especially when the trading country doesn't take care to protect its interests and its own rare raw materials.

The so-called international community favors a few, and punishes the producing country and that is what happened to us. As we fuel other empires and their ambitions, our domestic capacity declines.
