I'd say it was a pretty good week for Democrats

And it really isn't good news. Dems have been such a disaster they are in full propaganda mode.

Studies have long shown that republicans are most driven by fear. That is why they need to control other people. They are afraid of the world.

The unemployment rate and the labor participation rate went down at the same time the number of new jobs went up. That is a virtual impossibility.

    Now you explain it. LOL

You didn't need to tell us you don't understand anything about economics; we knew it. LOL

The reason I know there is a discrepancy has nothing to do with economics. It is just pure math. It is a nearly impossible combination. And the way the data is collected, the "jobs added" is the most likely parameter to be in error.

Republicans are helping Democrats look good, opposing benefits for veterans exposed to burn pits, kowtowing to Big Pharma on insulin cost, and pushing statist authoritarianism over personal freedom in reproductive rights.

Meanwhile, Democrats are passing popular legislation - measures to foster job creation, raising taxes on large corporations and the wealthy, allowing Medicare to negotiate down some prescription drug costs, expanding the Affordable Care Act health care program, and investing in combating climate change by implementing tax credits for clean energy initiatives all have public support.

I give bipartisan credit where due: Kudos to all those Republican officeholders and Trump regime insiders who exposed the truth in the January 6 committee hearings.

That one opposing benefits to veterans exposed to burn pits is a red herring. The VA does not need a law from congress to provide benefits. If the VA believes they need additional funds, then it should be in their budget request.

The problem for republicans is that the democrats throw everything into one bill and then when the republicans oppose it, they cherry pick items which republicans which might otherwise favor.

This bill will not lower inflation. When you increase taxes on corporations, that becomes an expense for the corporation just like rent, fuel and any other expense. They in turn, increase the price of their product which fuels inflation. In addition, the increase in prices results in higher local taxes.

Maybe about 50% of that is actual beneficial to the public rather than the democrats - there is a difference. Being generous on my side.

Of all the illnesses and injuries which veterans suffer in service to their country, what makes this one special? Maybe they should pass a law for benefits for getting shot in the leg, or maybe the arm. How about a special law for the effects of Agent Orange? I am suffering from those effects, but the VA has put the burden of proof on me. I have to prove scientifically that Agent Orange caused my peripheral neuropathy.

The Inflation Reduction Act includes spending on clean energy initiatives, measures to reduce prescription drug prices, and a tax overhaul to ensure large corporations pay income taxes, all popular with Americans.

The bill would raise about $739 billion in tax revenue, more than offsetting the $433 billion in proposed spending. The legislation would decrease the federal deficit by by $102 billion over the next decade, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Ask veterans and the Republicans who caved.

Just last month, a nearly identical bill passed in the Senate with overwhelming bipartisan support, clearing by a margin of 84-14.

26 Republicans changed their votes since last month, blocking the bill. Ask them, "Why the fllp flop?"

You are entitled to your aberrant view even if you cannot cite a single Democrat who shares it.

You have it backwards. You should ask the democrats why these particular veterans are being given special treatment.

Will the VA require them to prove scientifically that their disability was caused by the burn pits?

    The scorecard.

Dems--Ayman al-Zawahiri killed, the climate-healthcare-tax bill on the verge of passage, 528K jobs created, the national average for gasoline headed below $4, passage of a bill to help vets with a health condition related to their service.

Repubs--successful in blocking a cost reduction for insulin.

    America 5, Repubs 1.

Your animus to Democrats makes it obvious that you would be more amenable to answers from the Republicans who voted for the bill, voted against the bill, and then voted for the bill.

Just a couple of comments. It was not the same bill. It had some of the same provisions in it.

It was a democrat sponsored bill. Some republicans will vote for it because it is for the veterans without really realizing all the implications.

This takes me back to one of my earlier comments. The democrats load their bills with everything and then criticize the republicans for voting against voting against specific parts of the bill. l.

    Spin baby spin.

So, here's what you're cheering for..

Taxes on almost everyone will be going up.
Jobs created are the temporary or unlikely to be able to support the folks who took them
Recession is driving demand down so badly that prices are falling despite the artificial instability Biden continues to inject into the world

    Quite the plan...
