University of Kansas offers 'Angry White Male Studies' class

The Commies have to have a domestic enemy and it looks like white folks are their chosen enemy this time.

 

I think the angry 50% would be the leftist, God knows they are very seldom happy or have anything good to say about ANY THING!

Joe I think the metric is the same. I think there are different reasons for anger in different demographics.

He's not willing to receive that. He wrote the similar type of post when a fraction of a percentage of minority farmers were given grants during the pandemic and I tried to explain that and he got ticked off.

I've done 5,000 things since I read this thread but, IIRC, I think he also said that their <however he described it> is "for no reason". He doesn't see why that's a bigoted statement and he doesn't care that it is.

 

I read your link in full. Can you please explain to me why this course upsets you? It actually sounds kind of interesting. I wouldn't mind seeing the full curriculum for this course. For all we know this course can be quite sympathetic towards the emergence of the "angry white male". I am sure they would touch on subjects like the changing role of woman, declining economic power and opportunity, changing immigration, change in household roles. They may even look at which white male groups are impacted? Ask question like do education level, income, profession, geographic location, marital status make a difference. It sounds like a fascinating course. I imagine it is some type of first year sociology course. I doubt it would be mandatory for any major and it may challenge students to think about a subject logically that people normally just react to through emotions.

 

Joe let's be real, there were just a many whites as they were any other demographic causing damage at those protest. But I see where you're trying to go.

You're right. Rob Hodge said 20 years ago that "White, Southern males are the only group that's politically correct to beat up on". But, it's only been in the past few years that the Commies have come out in the open about it.

 

I believe a good many people are angry simply because they are being told they should be angry and are too stupid to see the same folks convincing them to be angry are the people responsible for their unhappiness! That's one of the pitfalls of living under dependency and not striving to be independent!

 

No coarse sympathetic or not should focus on anger of one group. It creates division but knowing the atmosphere against white males I highly doubt it’s sympathetic

I would tend to disagree even without seeing the curriculum. I think the status quo is what creates the negative stereotypes of the "angry white male". Things you see on cable news, newspapers, Jordan Klepper from the Daily Show selectively interviewing MAGA supporters , TikTok videos of angry white people is what creates the negative "angry white male" stereotypes. This is probably what most young people in college formed their opinions on.

This course will probably examine the cause. What changed and when the change starting occurring. Your article mentioned from the 1950s onward so I imagine they will look at what was changing in society at that time. I am sure things like the woman's movement, changing workplace, changing middle class, changing immigration, changing nuclear family, will all play big roles. Understanding what causes the anger generally leads to greater sympathy for why the anger exist. Hopefully this course will make the students think about and consider things in ways they never did before and that is the very purpose of low level courses like these.
