White woman calls police on Black man standing outside his Seattle area home

This happened in liberal Seattle. Who's right and wrong here? It's already being compared to the Brooklyn birdwatcher:

 

Why are their races the featured part of the story?

 

It's always a good thing to familiarize yourself with your neighbors.

 

Seattle does actually have a black neighborhood that's kind of big. About half the blacks in it are Ethiopian immigrants. But there is also a little bit of a problem in other parts of the city with transient-looking black people committing crime. (It's not a terrible problem though)

I don't think the Ethiopians are too criminally inclined, but certain immigrants from other African countries are, such as Somalia (they are probably not there legally, but Seattle considers itself a "sanctuary city").

I have no idea where the criminals actually live. There is no place within the city where a poor criminal could afford to live.

There are plenty of black homeless people concentrated in some parts of the city, but I do not think they are the ones responsible for most of this property crime.

Seattle is a super-progressive city, but when push comes to shove, homeowners are going to be cautious when there are problems affecting their neighborhood. It can feel like an awful violation when someone breaks into your home, and then you will forever feel like you are on the defense. I think some homes are closer to main streets and more accessible to these types of problems, and in that city people are lucky if they can afford any house so can't always be choosy where the exact location is. So some of these homeowners are going to be more exposed to these problems, and it could get frustrating.

 

Because their races are the story.

Because of the accusation that racial discrimination played a role in the situation. It's the same reason the fact the man really was the legal renter of the home was mentioned.

The gender of the people involved was mentioned too, and that seems even less relevant than race. Why didn't you object to that?

 

We already know the answer.... There's an agenda behind it.

 

Is there any evidence of that or are we just left to assume that because it was a white person and a black person?

 

The accusation is literally quoted in the article (why do people never read them?). I've no idea whether it was actually the case or not, but that will be why it was mentioned.

If any news organization was to post a story like this that had the races reversed they would be accused of being racist.

But it's perfectly okay to portray white people as being blanketly racist

 

If it was blatantly obvious, why did you ask? You could have just presented your point.

The news organisation just reported the man's accusation (and the woman's denial). Are you suggesting they should have not reported the facts just to avoid accusations of racial bias?

 

Strange when blacks attack Asians, the media refused to mentioned the race of the perpetrators.

 

I am white and had the cops called on me.... who cares, that is what is supposed to happen if someone looks suspicious

do not confront the person..... if they are suspicious call the cops, let them handle it

 

Because if the races were reversed there would be no story.

 

Their genders were assumed, why didn’t libs object to that? Better yet, before publishing this story, did anyone contact the people and ask them what pronouns should be used when referring to them?

 

Had a friend get the cops called on him to. He was sitting in his car at the dentist office waiting for his appointment befor they opened. Secretary come to open up ran in locked doors again and called the cops. She was embarrassed when he eventually walked in after the cops left, but told her he gets it. The car he was driving was crying white trash and his neck tattoos and gaged ears didn't help.

When a person 'looks suspicious' because they're a certain race and they're standing outside of a home and you haven't seen them before that's a problem. It's racial profiling and racial discrimination.

 

What is the profile for blacks and how did it develop?

 

Nah, it plays to what the race lovers crave and what the news and editorialist dish up for their hungry audience

 

Personally, depending on the amount of time, I'd walk out all friendly like and kindly ask if I could help him in any way! Color would have NO bearing on it for me

 

She had no right to even question the man, not to mention how stupid that was. If she thought he was a burglar, she should have called the police. You don't confront someone you think may be a criminal ... what if he's armed?

She confronted him because he was black. Period. Had his white partner been the one she saw first, she probably would not have bothered to stop.
