I opposed him doing so too, posted at the time he shouldn't be doing it. But he had every right to and there was no crime in doing so and it certainly doesn't require a congressional committee or legislation.

Go look through the January 6th hearings and look how many similar phrases were used.

 

I wonder if you knew what you are reading here. Look at the second to last paragraph. It states, "At all times, the DCNG will remain under the operational and administrative command and control of the Commanding General of the DCNG. Per 10 USC 12406, that person is the one and only President of the United States. This memo does not show the DC mayor or anyone else in control of the DCNG prior to the riots.

Furthermore, I find it "suspicious" is the stamp of the date. Usually, these official memos do not have stamps unless it is a copy. If a copy, then it must have an offical stamp of the Office of the President or the Secretary of Defense, which it does not. It does have a bar code, but that code could be fake or not. Hard to tell given the numbers/letters sequence. Some of them appear to be off.

He is the commanding general, not the commanding officer of the force. The ultimate authority still goes to the President of the United States.

The commanding general of the DCNG is the commanding officer when the force is not nationalized. Once nationalized, the ultimate authority is the CNC himself, the President, whoever that may be.

 

Trump didn't trash the Capitol nor did he ask or order or request anyone else to.

His comment is called a non sequitor.

 

They do if they're operating on a federal basis rather than a state one. Regardless, I'm not suggesting that they would have actually acted in any negative manner even if ordered to (probably!), my point is just that Trump requesting them wasn't automatically based on good intentions on his part.

And when sent in to do DOMESTIC LAW ENFORCEMENT they act under the direction of the LOCAL AUTHORITY to be in coordination with the local law enforcement.

And AGAIN I ask specifically when are you asserting Trump should have ordered in the National Guard and who were they supposed to report to, who were they going to operate under?

 

Facts are what you want to believe in this story. Just because he didn’t say go trash the capitol doesn’t mean he didn’t have direct responsibility for working them up to go trash OUR capitol.

No facts are facts he didn't go to the Capitol nor commit any crimes that day as you said nor did he work anyone up to go and trash the Capitol, that started before he even ended his speech and the people there left.

 

They never get that part for some reason.
