I just have to ask, when you have 50 Forensic FBI officers, two dozen CIA officials, 14 top Democrat (anti Trump) attorneys, 2500 witnesses, millions of subpoenaed documents, the NY District attorney, and thousands of felony criminal claims, but your batting average for criminal claims vs indictments is 0/20,000, how do you keep running up the hill every time the media cries wolf?

The only thing you have accomplished thus far is to make Trump the most exonerated citizen in US history. So lets try and help you all out with a few facts.

1. Trump didn't try and overthrow government
2. Trump didn't try and take the presidential limo by force
3. The cop at the capital was not murdered with a fire extinguisher
4. Kavanaugh was not an alcoholic high school serial rapist
5. The Covington Catholic kids are not white supremacist
6. There are no fake electors trying to take over the government
7. Border agents were no whipping illegals
8. Trump was not going to launch nuclear weapons to keep his office
9. The historical inflation is not transitory
10. Feds did not clear Lafayette Park of protesters for a photo op
11. Trump was not a secret Russia spy
12. Incarcerated Illegals at the border were not drinking from toilets
13. Insuring ballot integrity asking for photo IDs is not Jim Crow laws
14. The Capitol Hill riot on Jan. 6 was not an armed insurrection

Its reasons like these why nobody takes you seriously. And before you all jump on the (You love Trump) train as the first excuse that comes to those minds, I could care less if Trump goes to prison or not. Doesn't change my life 10 cents worth.

Which might be scary for them if the election were held this fall instead of in 2 years. Whatever Trump's polling numbers are, you can bet they'll be higher if they matched up DeSantis against Biden. He's fond of the same types of policies Trump is without all the baggage of being a despicable person to boot. Even Trump voters should think real hard about whether they want more of Trump making every waking second about himself(including all the spats he has with the mainstream media which he loves) when they have a more mature option now.

 

Okay, my point is that Trump's numbers have stayed steady since 2016, within a couple points up or down of around 42%.

I suppose what I’m saying is Trump’s popularity hasn’t improved or went down since he first announced his run for the presidency back in 2015. It’s been constant regardless of the democrats or the media has thrown at him. His support hasn’t increased or decreased. His numbers haven’t climbed. He still has the same supporters as he had in 2016. They haven’t left him and probably never will. But the important thing is no one has climbed aboard to add to his support.


Yes, Trump is popular as ever if being popular as ever is around 41/42% of the American public viewing him as such. Those who don’t like him has also remained steady at 54%, give or take a point or two.


Bottom line, popularity within the Republican ranks doesn’t equate to popularity among all Americans.

 

Midterms are usually a referendum on the job the new president is doing. If the people like what he’s doing, they’ll add to his party’s seats in congress, if they don’t, they add to the party’s out of power seats or give the party out of party control as they did in 1994,2006, 2010 and 2018.

Presidential approval doesn’t mean much this far out from 2024 or reelection. But it usually does for the midterms as president’s with low approval usually loses seats. Going by the numbers today, this year’s midterms are unique. Mixed signals are being sent much like 2020 when the Democrats won the presidency by a lot, but lost the down ballot offices. The Democrats lost 13 house seats, a governorship and 2 state legislatures. As of today, another split decision, the numbers say the democrats gain a senate seat or two, lose 18-20 house seats. Although there’s plenty of time for all of that to change.


I think today’s modern political era of polarization, the great divide and the super, mega, ultra-high partisanship is responsible. Today’s political era throws historical standards, wisdom out the window.

 

So Trump does well at CPAC. That is kind of like Mickey winning a poll at MouseCon.

 

I don't know about that. The new president practically always loses seats during 1st midterms because people don't show up to vote. Dems will almost certainly lose seats this Nov.
