At least you get to eat 6 a week. Is your blood sugar pretty much under control?

Of all the reasons why my brother says I should move down south, he totally missed you can harvest figs like you can't imagine lol.

Yes, my BG is under control, though I want it to be just a little bit better. The endo says I'm doing fine and stop worrying the little stuff.

I'll give my neighbor your brother's address, she'll ship him all he could ever want!

Flexi snake the drain weasel is what someone recommended . I clean out my kitchen drain with vinegar, soda and a lot of hot water. I was bound and determined to not call a plumber.

I really hate to tell you this....my hot water heater cost me 25.00. Bought it at a thrift store. It has been working several years now. It was taken from a renovation.

You mean I got ripped off?? AGAIN!

YYeah, probably. They did have to make a few changes to bring it up to code.

It's like when I had my heating unit serviced last winter and the guy said I'd have to think about replacing it soon. I told him it wasn't that old. I remember buying it! He said, yeah it has a sticker saying it was installed in 1999. :(

I am not saying you got ripped off. A lot of your cost was probably labor. People deserve to get paid for their work and time. You are an economic asset to your community.

I hate lawyers. I will like them better with my afternoon off, but they goofed up my yesterday afternoon and today morning for what was literally "I was there, but I didn't see anything happen" a half dozen different ways testimony. I am not sure what part of "I was facing in a different direction and therefore looking in a different direction when whatever happened" is so unfathomable to them.

Never seen soft shell crabs that big.
The ones we have here are no bigger than a bottle top.

They are blue crab, common in all salt and brackish areas of Florida.

If I'm going to eat crab I'd like king crab, given my druthers.

Blue crab is lots of work.....in comparison.

.....unless, unless...you can eat the whole thing. :)

We have had a wetter than normal summer. Of course the humidity is so high that you have to practically swim through the air to get anywhere, but could be worse.

We got three inches of rain the other day and so far just sprinkles lately. That is without something named and for that we are very thankful.

I planted some beans and they are starting to come up. My FIL grew pole beans for the market and he was always able to harvest them before the first frost. Maybe my beans will make before the first frost..I hope, I hope.

Steamed blue crab claws is the way to go...dip them in butter for a great treat. I had some last week in PCB.

I've ordered a new (to me) kind of bush bean, Top Crop. Our Blue Lake #274 did OK this year, but the plants are tired and will be pulled out this week. Our average first frost date is November 15, so we should have time to get a crop or two, then use row cover, and clear plastic after that for a mini-cold frame to gain another week or two, depending on Mother Nature.

I plan to do lettuce and spinach in a different bed. A week or two after that, I'll be seeding the cool weather root crops: carrots, radishes, green onions.

Have you thought about row cover to extend your growing time?

Yeah but there isn't much meat in them is there?
I noticed you said something about 3 in of rain the other day. Are you in Florida too?

These last several days have been pretty rainy but right now as of 226 p.m. the sun is shining. And I just woke up :)

But hey I work 3rd shift for a living so I have that excuse :)

    Yes, we live in Fl.
Stone crab claws are larger but to me not as tasty as blue crab claws.
