Andrew Yang gets it and he is no "Trump fan". Why is it that some folks are so blinded by hate that they cannot see they are detrimental to their own cause?

The constant Trump hate is why some folks seem to defend Trump. Most people are just sick of the noise. It seems to be worse around election time and that is no coincidence.

Could Trump haters do better by stopping the hatred and just trying to make the case for whatever issues they support?

 

No they can't. Socialism has always and without exception failed. As it fails, the tend to people vote to replace the government that is failing them. In response, the socialists turn to authoritarianism to retain their power. What we have witnessed from the Democrats is a turn to raw force to maintain their power. They are openly dismantling classical liberal norms and replacing them with Chinese struggle session norms. Conservatives believe that out cratering economy will result in a replacement of the regime when in reality it could result in more authoritarianism by the regime. As you have read on this forum, ordinary progressives support using state power to keep state power. Their values are not our values. If they win, the world will enter a new dark age.

Contrast that to patriotic Americans freely donating to Trump and not asking for a single thing in return.

 

Who can forget Marc Rich? at the time the biggest tax evader in U.S. history and a man on the FBI's 10 most wanted list was pardoned for big Clinton contributions.
