Trump tax returns must be given to Congress, federal appeals court says in new ruling

Former President Donald Trump’s federal income tax returns and those of Trump business entities must be turned over to the House Ways and Means Committee, a federal appeals court panel said in a ruling Tuesday.

The 3-0 decision is the latest legal blow to Trump, who has repeatedly lost efforts in federal and state courts to shield his closely guarded tax returns and business-related documents from various investigations. Trump has argued that all of those probes are politically motivated.

Pretty tough week for Individual 1. He's got tread marks on his orange face. Which would be red by now if he had any sense of guilt or remorse for what he's put the country through.

If you read the court's decision it's clear the only Kangarooland involved were decisions by Trump appointed Treasury Dept. and OLC officials trying to protect Individual 1 from having to turn over his taxes following a lawful request from Rep. Neal.

What a surprise. It was the Washington DC court of appeals. That would have been my first guess.

There doesn't seem to be a statute of limitations on accusations against Hillary.

With this completely over the top pretextual raid of a opposition member former president and the top opponent of the current president, I'd say that the Orange Man's claim that this is politically motivated just added five stars on the credibility rating. Great job making someone who was fading back into a sympathetic national figure being mistreated by a rogue deep state. Just how stupid are these clowns?

Is a Kangaroo Clown Show .. on both sides of the fence to be frank..

Consider the dreaded "Tax Returns" --- at what point does the statute of limitations kick in .. right to a speedy trial ..

at what point is the ability to investigate new rabbit holes limited .. engage in new fishing expeditions .... and who gets to decide .. who is supposed to decide .. and what level of transparency is to be applied.

As soon as you apply any kind of reasonable metric .. this is just a sh't show

I do not care or agree with the court's decision. See, Congress is not an arm of law enforcement. Congress does not hand out subpoenas(it asks the DOJ to do this) and if the Courts actually did their job, read the freaking text of the fourth amendment they'd see the problem. Congress has no legitimate interest, political or otherwise in his taxes because the Fourth Amendment covers such.

You're only supposed to have access to these things, pursuant to a warrant(ie: The Trump raid was a warrant, we'll see if they actually got what they got and if they can prove their case with it) but I will grant them that getting a warrant was by the books.

This isn't. They haven't established a crime or a warrant asking for these documents. They should remain under seal, just like yours and mine social security, etc, all of that for ALL of us is under seal.

This is an attack on the fourth amendment of the constitution, by judges who are supposed to preside over it.. Hence, lack of confidence in the system moving forward.

Lock her up for what, exactly? She's been investigated more than any other politician. Either she isn't guilty, or she's one of the all time greatest criminal masterminds.

True. The chants of the "lock her up" lemmings have been replaced with the chants of the "lock him up" lemmings. People cheering for the IRS getting trump should know that he can afford to defend himself. The 80K new IRS agents will be going after people that can't afford to defend themselves.

If you started reading tax codes/laws 24/7 and lived to be 1000 years old, you would still break several tax laws without knowing it.

Whatever. So sick of hearing about her. Trump's Justice Department had the means and the will, and the time to indict her. I stand by my assessment: not guilty, or criminal mastermind ... pick one.

Not a lawful request not against any us citizen. It is nothing more nor less than a scavenger hunt. The only good thing is it's got more legal hoops to jump through before it's done.

Sure, some Dems are all for "equal" justice.

LIFE IN THE BANANA REPUBLIC: Here’s how the rule of law applied to a former FBI lawyer who pleaded guilty to forgery. “Former senior FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith pleaded guilty to forgery in getting that FISA warrant against Carter Page so the FBI could spy on the Trump organization. Clinesmith faced a harsh penalty — his law license was suspended. But that was then, and this is now. Clinesmith has been restored to “good standing” and has his license to practice law back.”

In the submissions to illegally spy on the President of the United States they used Carter Page's work for the CIA spying on the Russians as 'justification'. Clinesmith took the email where the CIA confirmed that was working for the CIA and forged the word NOT and added it to the submission completely deceiving the FISA court which had asked if Carter Page was a CIA asset.

They forged the FISA application because they knew that if they told the truth that it would be rejected. The forger didn't do a single day of time, and he has his law license back and is in "good standing".

No armed raid with heavily armed agents going through his wife's clothing. But, "wheels of justice continue to turn!"

You could have just said you haven't read the court's decision and therefore don't have a clue about what you're saying. Or perhaps Roo Roo Roo .. Kangarooland is the best you can do under any circumstances.

It comes as no surprise you think the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, or any court that doesn't rule in Trump's favor, has no credibility. He is, after all, your Orange Messiah.

And when Congress leaks his taxes to the press, you'll be insisting that the committee chairman who signed for his tax returns be prosecuted. Right??
