U.S. federal agents were looking for documents relating to nuclear weapons when they raided former President Donald Trump's home in Florida this week, the Washington Post reported on Thursday. It was not clear if such documents were recovered at the former president's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, the Post said. Reuters could not immediately confirm the report. The U.S. Justice Department asked a judge on Thursday to make public the warrant that authorized the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago, after Trump, a Republican, portrayed it as political retribution. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us...-confirms-fbi-investigating-trump-2022-08-11/ _______________________________ What was Trump doing with top secret documents concerning the US nuclear arsenal? And that he refused to hand over to the government. Scary
Don't worry, rag-tag MAGA warriors would lack any sort of chemical composition to build a nuclear weapon if that's what your worried about lol. On a serious note, I call hack on this report for one very important reason: They went to his house in June and asked for the pad lock, now we're supposed to believe two months later that they either discovered or uncovered nuclear secrets that they absolutely had to get back? This is utterly implausible. If it were such important documents they would've been discovered back in June. So either Trump was incredibly clever in hiding these documents and they found out only recently(which would explain why they spoke to Trump lawyers) OR, they're incompetent and only discovered the missing documents now lol.
or someone leaked the Feds fake info to cause the raid to undermine further any investigations of Trump as pure witchhunts
It would be so ironic to hear that they didn't find the documents, and that they are still missing. The idea of the government contemplating that they lost their own documents on their own and tried to blame the former president would be so laughable and just further discredit the government.
I don’t Trump cares about discrediting here. His goal is to prove the DOJ was doing the bidding for Democrats. He will now zero in on cleaning up the DOJ if elected. Democrats may overplayed here.
the word is that the FBI were looking for nuke docs, but there no confirmation any were found. However, if there were, those docs the prez cannot declassify. IF there were, then the former Prez is in a whole heap of do do.
No a realist - I have seen this storyline for 6 years I would love to see Trump brought down, but just like the Clintons, nothing ever sticks The left is so desperate to bring him down that they jump at everything and look foolish repeatedly
Well, we just don't know the facts, do we. I mean, if he did have them, it's not maga people I'm worried about, it's about the reckless disregard for national security.
Even you in your first post were cynical(as you should be) because it's entirely implausible that they knew these documents were missing in June and said "Okay, put a pad lock on it" and then two months later be like "Nah, actually, we're going to come in and take them.". This is of course presuming he has them in the first place. The report just raised more questions on the government, then the defendant.
Concurred, there's no valid reason to have the nuclear secrets and those would endanger everybody. Hell, they need to be in a secret vault or something where only military/authorized personnel can get it.
No, trump said they were in love. Why anyone needs to know more about this waste of skin is beyond me
Worse is that by all accounts the security around said documents were, well let’s say Ivana’s grave apparently has more security
The President doesn't keep "nuke" secrets. The launch codes are with an Army/Navy/Air Force officer, handcuffed to him/her, and he/she never leaves them until they are handed to another officer or the codes are changed. The President never sees the codes unless a nuke is about to be deployed....even then its just number/letters, need matching ones to do anything. There are exercise codes, for training a new President, Vice President, DoD Secretary, etc, but those are useless.
We shall see Best case scenario it it Trumps drawing of how to Nuke a hurricane Mind you this might be more the truth lols!
You seem to think that the left's loathing of Trump is done in a vacuum. There's good reason we want him out of politics. What is rational is the knowledge that Trump is a threat to national security, and any effort to bring him down, legally of course, is justified.
Yeah, a quick summary of bullet points -Took personal responsibility even though the WH didn't know it(the WH also claims they didn't know about Garland's press briefing. Curiouser and curiouser) -Claims that the government did try less intrusive methods or well, inadverently claimed it. -We'll learn more in the proper steps. I can just say if Trump got acquitted, the DOJ would never be able to live it down.
There will be no acquittal. The only way Garland will ever indict Trump is if the case is an open and shut case. It won't matter to Garland, one way or the other. As long as justice is served, he's good to go. He's a 'let the chips fall where they may' kinda guy. That's why he's the right man for the job.
are you serious? that is rosenberg vlass high treason. hmmmmm. probably for his buddies the ibn saud. that $2B "investment" makes sense.
