“Cancellation of Atlanta Festival Sparks New Fight Over Guns”
“Tens of thousands of Music Midtown festivalgoers are no longer going to descend on Atlanta’s massive Piedmont Park next month”

“In fact, some people are convinced Atlanta will lose more music festivals and performances on public land as organizers and artists learn that state law makes it nearly impossible for them to stop people from carrying guns among the alcohol-fueled crowds.”

“Nation planned to host the festival at Piedmont Park — public land — where the festival had been held each year since 2011. And it almost certainly fell into the leasing category that would make a ban on guns illegal.”

“In terms of Music Midtown, it’s virtually a no-brainer that they can’t ban guns there,” said John Monroe, an attorney who represented a gun rights group in the case before the state Supreme Court.”

“Cancelling the event over the gun law would make sense from Live Nation's perspective, said Timothy Lytton, a law professor at Georgia State University.”

“A mass shooting at a country music festival in Las Vegas in 2017 that claimed more than 50 lives cost MGM Resorts International — the owner of the concert venue — and its insurers $800 million in legal claims. With no restriction on guns, Live Nation was looking at potentially “astronomical” liability exposure at Music Midtown”

Alcohol, drugs, and guns, in a heavily crowded space ain’t a good mixture

Question becomes if this becomes a trend, especially in gun free States, in today’s climate, are people going to be that eager to put themselves in that situation?

Then people who hate constitutional rights can go find somewhere else to play their music.

The only righteous thing for them to do is to move the Festival to Chicago, a city with some of the strictest gun laws in the country. That'll make their festival more safe!

    Thats what they are doing
Guns and alcohol do not mix
Guns and drugs do not mix

I fully support a right to carry but I also support common sense.

I think Sir Ahmed Salman Rushdie has a lil to say about knives too! I guess they should be discussed also ;)

Can’t say I recall any concert where someone with a knife stabbed over 400 people killing over 50

So you are saying alcohol and guns during a rock festival in a crowded space doesn’t present difficulties?

No you didn't. Google and all other search engines will only let you see the first two hundred or so results. The rest are censored.

For example, search climate change, 1.7 billion results.

    upload_2022-8-13_17-10-18.png

Now go to the 20th page of results. You can go no deeper. Greatest act of censorship in our lifetimes and it is across all search engines. Heterodox opinions are being erased. You get to see 200 pages of 1.7 billion..... amazing. In other words, your limit is 200 results and don't be surprised if google narrows that down to 50 in the future. You are getting curated search results and the decline in quality from 10 years ago is shocking.

Maybe they could just do like most public areas and ban alcohol and drugs?

Or are they more concerned with the type of people that show up to rap concerts?
