What is your opinion on this? I believe this piece is dead on and it's sad another Democrat needs to point out Democratic values when it comes to illegal migrants. https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc...c-adams-owed-migrants-warmer-welcome-n1297893 A July 25 New York Times story noted that Adams “called for federal assistance to help with what he said was a flood of 2,800 asylum seekers who were making it difficult for New York City to fulfill its legal obligation to provide housing to those in need, known as the right to shelter.” It was clear to anyone who understands how migrants continue to get dehumanized that Adams' July news conference calling for federal help is yet another example of a Democratic politician who ostensibly says the right things but lacks the political will to take the matter into his own hands.
Adams is a charlatan who should never have been elected. He was a make-believe cop who was on desk duty most of his career because he was a self-promoting troublemaker. He is the perfect example of guilty liberal affirmative action bringing unqualified people to jobs they can't do.
Let’s go ahead and overwhelm him and his sanctuary city in a small way like Biden is doing to border states Texas and Arizona but not New Mexico or California.
NYC should build a wall between themselves and New Jersey. They could stop all busses at the border and turn the ones with immigrants around back to Texas.
His remarks did come across as unwelcoming, sortof in a 'we have to eat this **** sandwich' kinda way. Isn't it interesting that NY needs to declare a federal emergency when it gets a little taste of the medicine thats been crammed down the throats of tiny border towns tor decades...
From the article; While Adams correctly describes what those Republicans are doing as “un-American” and “horrific,” the entire narrative now centers around his political fight with Abbott and less on what he and his city can do to help migrants being used as pawns. Yes, there are photo ops showing Adams welcoming a busload of Haitian migrants arriving at Port Authority, but those moments seem less sincere when the best Adams can do this week is vow to organize busloads of New Yorkers and campaign against Abbott in his re-election bid as governor.
