If you believe in the duality of all things, that is, "x" and "opposite x" co-exist, then you are remiss if you do not make it a priority to appreciate the incredible opportunities presenting themselves as current socio-economic-political systems continue their dis-integration.

Yes, there are many less than wonderful things taking place in the human sphere that are going to cause a great deal of pain to a great number of people [and this is always a monumental tragedy], but within the chaos there is a new world forming which is going to present [to those willing to maintain their balance] the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a future where things should work as good as they are bad now.

Remember, good makes bad and bad makes good, so when things get really bad [or really good], the key is to be aware of the opposite so you can profit/take cover. This not only applies to fundamental societal paradigm shifts such as humanity goes through every century or so, but to all things, as well.

murderers, and rapists make good? lol.

    Evil, makes good?

Are we using logical and moral definitions? or Democrat definitions? lol.

Like Biden and the white house calling inflation a good thing. lmao.
and then at other times, denying that we have inflation, that pretending that America is doing great economically. lol.

There are good and bad people. Alone, they can only do so much good/bad. The biggest problem are those willing to blindly follow them. With good intentions, they cause far more harm.

Let's use some serious evil as an example...Nazi Germany and Stalinist USSR.

Because of the incomprehensible horrors these two regimes perpetrated, the U.S. fostered a system post WWII that made possible a global environment that allowed literally billions of people to be raised out of poverty over the past 75 years. Now I am not sure how one might do the math to calculate the effects of this or that, but this would have not taken place had the U.S. not had the capacity to insure global free trade via its navy [having the courage and political savvy to defeat Communism by gaining the alliance it did].

One way or another, people pay the price for what they do.

And it does. However, those whose line favor one side or the other strongly- are drawn to gather with others like themselves, thus good and evil in people becomes good and evil groups of people.
Not totally, but predominantly- and thus groups can become a clear and present source of one or the other.

The best advice a parent can give is to tell their children to be very careful who they let get close to them, who they associate with- because behaviors can be contagious, cultivated, and destructive.

As a man once said there is nothing that is either good or bad, only a correct and an incorrect way of doing it.

Unfortunately, many bad people are in politics and we end up paying.

I, too, am not a big fan of groups. I believe that groups are the cause of the lion's share of the trouble brewing in the world. After all, what is the purpose of the group other than to take advantage of individuals? OTOH, one cannot discount the incredible contributions that these conglomerations of people have made to the furthering of our state of comfort and well-being, as well.

Again, there's an equal amount of good and bad in everything.

Morally, there is certainly good and bad. But out of that bad comes good.

If you examine your typical successful person in the West, you might find an individual who had to sacrifice a great deal of fun growing-up so s/he could avail themselves of a prolonged education. The greatest lessons we learn in life are always mediated through hardship, as success rarely breeds further success, but instead, complacency and stagnation. It is failure that shines the light forward.

The idea of this thread was to remind folks that there are unlimited opportunities out there for those who are willing to put their fears aside and refuse to get caught up in the ideology of every damn thing.

While the sh*! is hitting the fan over the next several years, find a niche in the new system forming and let everybody else worry about taking the decayed remains of the old system to the dump.

I strongly disagree. If people stood together to oppose government power, their greed and irresponsibility could not do as much damage to society. I say that government should never have more power than you would give your worst enemy.

Politicians are what they are but the problem I see is that the great majority of the professional and administrative classes are corrupted, as well. When that happens, everybody keeps their mouths shut because they are part of the problem and will not rat on themselves.

A perfect example was the reaction to COVID and the fact that almost the entire medical establishment said nothing and went along with all the non-sense despite the fact that everybody knew it was total BS.

Good point. Big pharma wields tremendous political power and successfully gained access to record profits from the tax payer. Their inferior product is causing harm, but they got a political exception from their buddies and they will not have to take responsibility.

When groups accumulate this much power, individuals easily succumb for all kinds of reasons [family obligations, mortgages, car payments, etc.]. Medicine is perhaps the most blatant example because the corruption is so pervasive and pretty much everybody has been a victim of this enormous ruse one way or another.

when cops raid the wrong house and find old women asleep, there might be riots.

when cops raid the right house and find a crime boss with nuclear sectrets, what do you think is "unjustified?"

"if i told you, i'd have to kill you"

perhaps the quantum mechanics have built a bomb that looks like a golf ball, or perhaps melania's "massager" has an extra kick. i don't know what was in those boxes and neither should trump.

I like the sentiment and it is likely true. But it reminds me of a cartoon I once saw that showed two men clad only in loin cloths chained spread-eagled to a concrete wall that extended 30 feet on each side with a moat full of crocodiles as a floor and razor wire for a roof. One turns to the other and says, "Here's my plan."

The sales pitch does not match results. We can compare to products that deliver half of what is promised.
