Ok, I'll be generous with you. The passports were return by the FBI.

 

It's the standard operating procedure. One team seizes the documents, and another team analyzes the documents to determine if it meets the guidelines for a search warrant are met. Because the items were returned in a day, the court will presume reasonableness on behalf of the FBI in their due diligence. If they were kept say, for a year, and later discovered that the FBI still had them, then serious questions will need to be asked.

I find it extremely hypocritical that the people who cry out for inclusion, diversity and tolerance while chanting love trumps hate as they drive around with coexist bumper stickers can display such bigotry and hate, maybe even racism.

People are not understanding how long it takes to sift through thousands of items and documents. We had people complaining that 30 agents was too many and they stayed too long. I'm sure they would have preferred a team of 100 agents on Trump property.

As I stated on a related thread, passports are the property of the federal government, and granted as a privilege to law-abiding citizens. They can retrieve them at will, but only do so if they have good reason. Nobody "stole" Trump's passport. The passports may have been listed on the search warrant, or maybe the FBI confiscates them temporarily when executing a warrant, perhaps to deny the target a chance to flee.

Since they haven't released the affidavit presented to the judge, how do you know why they did any of this? The affidavit is where Garland would have spelled out the specifics of what they were looking for and why. Anything we claim here about the why of this is pure, made up bee ess.
