    Why the **** would you ever want to side with either China or Russia? NK? stagnated, SK? Thrived. All Easter countries that were more under Russia's sphere of influence including East Berlin? Stagnated. All EU centric countries? Thrived.

    Why on EARTH would Ukraine want to look east? That's the sure fire way to stagnate and regress. Of COURSE they are going to want trade and influence from the west.

    Putin would love any coup which removes Zelensky, so even if there will be a military coup without any connection to Putin, many will see there Putin's fingers.
    And lets assume there will be a military coup - how it will spare Ukraine the the humiliation of losing?
    We know what Putin wants - he wants parts of Ukraine and Ukraine regime similar to Chechnya's Kadyrov, where Ukrainians will help Putin to remove 'nazis' from Lithuania,Poland, Latvia and Estonia.
    Meantime Putin has problem with refilling soldiers in his army, he is afraid to declare mobilisation, so he is using mercenaries (Wagner group) and prisoners. Putin also jailing corrupted and ineffical generals - so there is a good chance we will see a the coup in Moscow.

    Yes, according to official Russian history nothing come from Russian-Nazi Germany pact (called Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact).
    According to the Western history, out of Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact come Russian-German attack on Poland and Russian economic help to Germany while Germany fought France and England.

    I agree, it is interesting to compare what's gone on in the past to what's going on now.
    In 1939 Germany and Russia started WWII by attacking Poland, celebrating victory over Poland in Brest-Litovsk parade:


    In February 2022 Russian attacked Ukraine and May Russia celebrated victory parade over an old friend. Weird, right?

    Moscow. August 17th. INTERFAX.RU - The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the destruction of a large number of Ukrainian military, weapons and equipment as a result of an attack on the Kalinindorf railway station in the Kherson region.

    "A large number of servicemen of the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, weapons and military equipment, who arrived for unloading at the Kalinindorf railway station in the Kherson region, were destroyed," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a briefing on Wednesday.

    According to him, during the day, operational-tactical and army aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Russian Federation hit nine command posts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU), including the 46th airmobile brigade in the area of the village of Belaya Krinitsa, Kherson region, the 56th motorized infantry brigades in the Yasnobrodovka region (DPR) and the 28th motorized infantry brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Nikolaev region.

    “In addition, nine depots of rocket and artillery weapons and ammunition were destroyed in the areas of the settlements of Kramatorsk, Nikolaevka, Krasnoe of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Malinovka in the Kharkov region, Gulyai Pole, Samoilovka in the Zaporozhye region and Bereznegovatoe in the Mykolaiv region, as well as three fuel depots in districts of Kharkov, Bogodukhov and Chuguev of the Kharkov region," Konashenkov said.

    He also stated that four Ukrainian drones were shot down in a day in the areas of the settlements of Korobochkino in the Kharkiv region, Pervomaiskoye, Yasinovataya (DPR) and the city of Kherson.

    "In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, the following have been destroyed: 267 aircraft, 148 helicopters, 1,747 unmanned aerial vehicles, 365 anti-aircraft missile systems, 4,334 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 799 combat vehicles of multiple launch rocket systems, 3,310 field artillery pieces and mortars, and also 4,922 units of special military vehicles," said an official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry.

    One soldier wonder: I didn't know Germans had so many equipment.

    Soldiers of the "Sonechko" [Sunshine] volunteer special unit from Transcarpathia have captured a Russian T-72B tank during a successful operation in the Donetsk region.

    Details: According to the commander of "Sonechka" [Sunshine] Ruslan Kaganets, the combat vehicle was acting as an advanced support point for Russian positions.

    Military communication lines were connected to the tank, from where the Russian military unit that was operating in the area was controlled.

    This is one reason Ukraine's army fights like super-soldiers while ruZZia's thug army can't manage much more than lobbing missiles and shells.
