Well, you know how long it takes, just advance the video to that point and continue on

It involves some legal principles, I'm not going to transcribe it for you. All that is important was the passports were returned. Ignore the video, then.

If you want to get into the weeds of why, you'll have to listen to the video. No one else has explained it, because it involves some law-school like stuff.

Yeah I don't believe it was legit I don't believe it was a mistake either any longer. It was vindictive.

Thugs are going to thug and these bureaucrats love to let people know they have power over them.

This is everything the left said about the police but it's really happening and they don't care.

It’s obvious because it’s common sense.

If that’s true, it’s pretty ironic lol
Guy who advocates for police cruelty, treated unfairly by police lol

"When you guys put somebody in the car and you’re protecting their head you know, the way you put their hand over [their head]," Trump continued, mimicking the motion. "Like, 'Don’t hit their head and they’ve just killed somebody, don’t hit their head.' I said, 'You can take the hand away, OK?'

"I have to tell you, you know, the laws are so horrendously stacked against us, because for years and years, they've been made to protect the criminal. Totally made to protect the criminal. Not the officers. You do something wrong, you're in more jeopardy than they are," he added.

Can't wait until Trump mocks the DOJ for searching Melania's wardrobe and took his passport during his next rally.

finding irony and things you make up is not finding irony
And you take that as advocating cruelty?

I guess you take only what you cherry pick literally even when it's not meant that way.

Kind of a dishonest way to debate but you do you

That’s not being generous; that’s clarifying your meaning which is expected when your response can be assumed to be addressing the primary thrust of a post, instead of its toss off.

No one (that I recall) has said they were "stolen", but rather oddly taken in a search where the subject of the search is well-known throughout the world and most likely would not receive asylum in any country he fled to. In other words; it's overkill.

It would help if you included the time stamp in your post for me to consider.

Doesn't matter. The FBI and DOJ have whatever information and dirt they might have gleaned even if the documents are returned.

I provided it as supplement. It's not even a necessary point. Just ignore the video. It's only 15 minutes or so, anyway.

If you did it (the time stamp) must have been hidden.

The 'dirt' is the mere fact he absconded with US Property Illegally, property which, if gotten into the wrong hands, would pose a grave threat to the security of the United States.

That is not at all the dirt they were looking for.

I disagree about it being vindictive. I think it's routine.

Is that bad? Don’t we want law enforcement to find the “dirt”?

I don't have a passport myself, but I'm pretty damn sure I would recognize one if it was in front of me. I think they usually have "Passport" boldly printed on the front cover. It would be pretty difficult to mistake them for classified (or any other type of) document. This in itself suggests there was nothing "narrow in scope" in this raid.

Absolutely not. Law enforcement should not be digging up dirt on the political opposition -- not ever.

Which part of "routine" was not clear? It's my understanding that when the FBI or other law enforcement conducts a lawful search of a potential flight risk (anyone with the means to flee the jurisdiction), they confiscate passports as part of the search and hold them until they have communicated with the target or are otherwise assured that the target will not flee. I don't know if they were listed in the warrant, but I would list them if I were in charge.

The right is trying to make this into some sort of revenge conspiracy with all this swooning, clutching pearls, whining about the FBI being a rogue organization out to get Trump. Now they're getting threats and acts of violence just for doing their jobs. Ask yourself: With one tweet, or whatever they call in on that platform Trump uses, he could stop his more loony supporters from arming themselves and visiting their local FBI offices, could stop the endless online threats against DOJ employees. Why hasn't he done anything of the sort?

Law enforcement doesn’t have political opposition. Are you calling for a ban on investigating whatever party doesn’t control the white house?

Where have you been hiding. Federal law enforcement (at the higher levels, not so much the working agents although they do what they are told) have been neck deep in political activities going all the way back to early Hoover. Then in 2015 the FBI, the DOJ, and a bit of the CIA got on steroids in getting advantage over the political opposition.

    And who is their opposition?
