    JOLTS July 2022: (cnbc.com)

So the inflationary circle expands, as worker shortages drive wages higher... so the 'demand' isn't just about the supply of products (I've not had too many issues getting what I wanted since 2019) but the wage increases driving higher prices at this point.

Maybe democrats thought the best 5.8 Million new illegal immigrants would cool the jobs numbers.... Oh wait, not, that's giving them far too much credit...

I know a company who had to put an entire project on hold because they can't find workers. And it's very well paying for non skilled workers too.

It’s amazing the economy is doing so well that businesses can’t fill so many open positions.

Are you upset that businesses are trying to hire more people?

There has always been job opportunities here. Don’t pretend otherwise and try to credit the Idiot-in-Chief like he struck gold.

It is for the repubs, who need for the country to fail.

They should utilize the asylum seekers to fill low-skilled positions.

It's good for job seekers but it doesn't automatically = a good economy. When those workers get paid and their paychecks still don't get them very far due to high inflation, or it's harder for them to buy a home because of high interest rates, those are not good, but I will say it 's much better than having high unemployment. It's a recession like we've never had before.

Where did you get that malarkey?

If you have any type of relationship with a business that deals with a large number of employees, you would know the answer and wouldn't post such sad attempts at baiting.

And your assumption that every legal avenue has not been pursued comes from....where?

    Asylum seekers are legal.

What other avenues are you suggesting? Wishful thinking? Prayer?

So, would you like to come and help fill one of those opportunities?

Staffing has been an issue even back in 2018. The job openings have exceeded the workforce available, so yes, that can be a bad thing.

It isn't political, but I guess needing it to be validates your position.

Since apparently you didn't read the actual article, your post doesn't address the topic.

Where did I say they weren't legal?

A number of businesses in the area have brought in both J-1 Visa works and H2B Visa workers for minimum staffing.

There comes a point when a business cannot support higher and higher wages, even with increasing prices. Chances are, they would either automate or shut down. When smaller businesses close, the ripple effect can be quiet, but very detrimental across the board.

I suggested we utilize asylum seekers, and you responded by saying this: "And your assumption that every legal avenue has not been pursued comes from....where?"

What did you mean if not to suggest they are not legal?

Why would you specify asylum seekers, as though I didn't consider them legal?

There are plenty of people, of a whole bunch of nationalities, that are here illegally. Those cannot be considered for most employers.

I specified asylum seekers because they are legal, and your response suggested they are not legal (in your opinion).

Nope. By specifying one group, you made the assumption that every legal channel had not been explored.

Your words, not mine, but are you saying every legal channel has been explored? How do you know that?

I know what our companies have done, which includes notifications from the State unemployment offices, federal notifications, employment offices, advertising in newspapers and online services, offering referral bonuses and signage, to name a few.

What legal channels do you think haven't been explored?
