Being a patriotic American doesn't make you a 'Christian nationalist'

Punishment by eternal oil boiling sounds like an attempt at compelled and involuntary worship. Otherwise, it's just like any old crime... You may end up punished for it, but in most instances, there's really nothing preventing it.

I was raised catholic too, never missed church for 18 years.

I never heard a single clergy speak about government.

Before the needs of other nations and the people in them. What else could that be legitimately construed to mean?

I am proud to be an outright enemy of your vision of what you wish America would become. Free exercise there of trumps all else when it comes to religion, free expression, and the constitution

Hell is not eternal burning. It’s effects, separation from God, and not being alive are eternal but the fires of Hell consume the person and destroys the soul. The fires end and the new earth is recreated upon the ashes of those consumed by it.

The protection of religious liberty and the free exercise there of is not theocracy. We all have freedom of religion where all can freely choose any religion they want or none at all. A theocracy would not allow the non at all option.

I have followed politics for over 50yrs, i first started referring to the right as nazis, when i learned of nixons cooperation with real nazis, but the excuse then was the nazis were very anti communist...both sides now call each other fascist, nazis, and i wont even enter that debate, the history is obvious....having studied ww2 and the nazis i would say the US does not have an equivalent to the Hitler youth, when we do then i will worry

Actually one can be a patriot and a nationalist and a Christian. There are tens of millions of Americans who are all three.

We will never agree as to the nature of Orban and his government in the democracy that is the nation of Hungary. Tucker Carlson was right to interview him and highlight the successes he and his nation have achieved

That’s the real bottom line here. The secular left is trying to tar the entire MAGA movement to a religious viewpoint held by about 1 in every 1,000 Christians i. America.

Don't adopt their language. Nationalism is a synonym for patriotism means the same thing. Being Christian or white and also a patriot is perfectly acceptable there's nothing wrong with that don't operate in their paradigm.

Tucker Carlson is an entertainment show host running just to the left of Alex Jones. Tucker spews nothing but grevience and victim rhetoric while showcasing neo fascist Orban as a role model for the Christo Fascist radicalized RW. America is not Hungary.

    Yup.

In fact, most of the well-known examples of "Christian Nationalists" are unpatriotic.

the following taken from encyclopedia Britannica
Although orthodox Christians participated at every stage of the new republic, Deism influenced a majority of the Founders. The movement opposed barriers to moral improvement and to social justice. It stood for rational inquiry, for skepticism about dogma and mystery, and for religious toleration. Many of its adherents advocated universal education, freedom of the press, and separation of church and state. If the nation owes much to the Judeo-Christian tradition, it is also indebted to Deism, a movement of reason and equality that influenced the Founding Fathers to embrace liberal political ideals remarkable for their time.
the founders were much more liberal in thinking than modern evangelical Christians, and for this reason i object to the rightwing christians imposing their religious philosophy anywhere in public policy, and as far as i know religious persecution in mother England was a reason for many to move to the new world, they were very familiar with "official" religious outcomes

Yet you want your religious rules to be encoded into civil law that applies even to people who think your deity of choice doesn't exist. Why should they be forced to live as you say, instead of having the freedom to make their own personal choices?
