Just so I know, Election fraud claims are acceptable if they come from the left?

You do understand the difference between Federal and State crimes don’t you?

Your post would indicate you do not.

That number is super low considering those rioters EXPONENTIALLY outnumbered the small group at 1/6
How convenient to just play with math.
Another leftist playbook trick that has been over used and an now be seen MILES away, even from low IQ people

No that’s not what it means. What it means is that your liberal DAs in these liberal cities don’t like to prosecute their ground minions. So they let them walk.

    Really, exponentially outnumbered?
First of all, are you claiming everyone involved at a BLM protest was violent? If not can you give us a breakdown of violent vs. peaceful BLM protestors? Do you have a clue what that might be?

You folks aren’t differentiating between the protestors who were violent on Jan 6 and the ones who just walked around taking selfies.

Why should we differentiate for blm?

Of course I do. But barricading police officers and public officials and civilians inside of a courthouse and then attempting to set it on fire is a federal crime.

Don't worry, i'm sure the people that only took selfies will get LESS jail time

I can. The Jan 6 protest was just a protest nothing else. The whole to-do about it being an insurrection or something is political theater, a Democrat desperation hail-mary attempt to save their party from becoming a rotting carcass. The national populism that motivates the MAGA movement is getting stronger every day, and it's happening all over the globe, not just here in the states.

I am differentiating between the ones that illegally rushed police and/or illegally entered the Capitol. If all someone did was listen to Trump’s (idiotic) speech and then went home I don’t care.

No, it was not “just a protest”.
For the first time in our nations 200+ years of history the peaceful transfer of power was threatened and delayed.
The fact that you call it “just a protest” tells a lot about you (and it isn’t good)

Stop acting like this sort of thing never happened before in history

    https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2021/02/28/when-the-left-attacked-the-capitol-471270

as i said in my other thread, 100s of riots VS ONE. You can't change that math no matter how many fancy words you come up for it like "insurrection" and whatever else the democrat cronies made up

How did an explosion at 1:30 am “delay or threaten” the peaceful transfer of power? How many people were injured? Where were the people chanting that they wanted to hang the Vice President? How many staffers locked themselves in offices and hid, fearing for their lives? Did the president tell the two bombers that they were “very special “ and that “we love you”? How many lawmakers tried to downplay their actions?

Attempting to equate the two events is just an attempt to brush aside what happened on 1/6.

Yup! because riots or Protests gone wrong only matter when its initiated by the right

how similar do things need to be?

same day, same location? same weather? no 2 events are identical so that is a weak arse argument

Gonna have to do better than that!

No, anyone who engaged in violent activities need to be arrested and prosecuted.

One of the things that do need to be compared are the reasons behind the protests.
Do you think it is appropriate to protest the killing of unarmed people by police?
Do you think it is appropriate to protest over a lie about a stolen election?

Also you said “don’t pretend that this is the first time this has happened”
Do you honestly think 1/6 and the Weather Underground bombing are somehow equivalent?

I’d say that “storming the Capitol” doesn’t even come close to the magnitude of barricading people in a court house and trying to set it on fire

It is when entering was done by assaulting officers and smashing in doors and windows.

That would depend on how you entered the Capitol wouldn’t it?

Of course you would say that. You’re trying to downplay what happened on 1/6 in order to try and defend Trump and his supporters.

You wishing it were so, does not make it so. Ditto for hoping. And I believe you are correct, it is a felony, 'though I'll take your word for it on the penalty. Given that outright killers aren't even getting that much time these days, pardon me while I yawn.

But let's get to the more important point, shall we? You are indeed correct that there is no such thing as a Federal Voter ID card. But there is a Federal Voter ID application, that can be found, in 21 different languages (!) right here. That I have posted countless times before on this very forum. Considering the ability to speak, read, and write is a requirement to become a naturalized US Citizen, I see no reason such a form should be offered in anything but, but that is a secondary concern.

Should you bother clicking on the link, and should you bother reading the entire document, as I did, you will learn that while it is a federal form, it is not processed by the feds. Each State has it's own section towards the back of the document, that includes instructions, presumably in 21 different languages, as to where to send them once completed, and what documentation is required. Virtually, if not literally all of the States, save the single one that won't accept this form at all, require the following:

    • Identification, in the form of a utility bill in the name of the applicant.
    • Some ask for the last-4 digits of the applicant's SSN, but in the same breath also say that entering "None" is an acceptable response. A small handful ask for a full SSN, but again, say just the last-4 or "None" is also acceptable. I believe one State, though I don't remember which, requires something more substantiative in terms of the required ID.
    • Applicants are required to check a box stating that they are a Citizen of the United States. However, with no documentation required to prove that ascertain, it's all on the "Honor System". No birth certificates, no passports, no naturalization paperwork, no "Report of a US Citizen born abroad", which I know is a real thing, because I have one. No nothing. Obviously, since no such documentation is even required, it becomes all but impossible to investigate violators, as there is literally nothing to investigate in the first place. And since it's all done by mail, you can't even read what might otherwise be suspicious body language. Lack of English skills obviously amounts to nothing like reasonable suspicion, much less probable cause, because we don't require it, going out of our way as we do to provide the documents in so many different languages, I don't even know what many of them are. No SSN? No problem? Last 4? Meaningless... There are tens if not hundreds of thousands of legitimate citizens who share the same last-4 digits of their SSN, as there are only 10,000 different combinations available, from 0000 to 9999, so it would be impossible to check, even if databases exist, which they don't at least for those above some unknown (to me) age.
    • There is one other State, in addition to the one that won't take the form at all, that required more substantive documentation, though I do not remember specifically what, nor what the two States were. Only that even combined they represented only a modest number of Electoral Votes.
To reiterate, yes, for any individual to check that little box knowing full well it wasn't true is a crime. However, it's a crime that is all but impossible to even investigate, much less prove, and since no documentation save that oh-so-hard-to-get utility bill is required, even harder to prove. It's a crime that is easier to get away with than driving 2 mph over the speed limit.
