The 7 reasons why nuclear energy is not the answer to solve climate change
Nuclear takes 5 to 17 years longer between planning and operation and produces on average 23 times the emissions per unit electricity generated. In addition, it creates risk and cost associated with weapons proliferation, meltdown, mining lung cancer, and waste risks. Clean, renewables avoid all such risks.

I, too, once believed the nonsense you still spout. Then I turned 13, and learned a few things. I guess not everyone gets educated past a certain point.

That’s nice and all, but 230 to 350 miles on a big rig? They currently go around 2000 miles on a full tank…. Also, how do they handle the load they are carrying(not exactly mentioned in article if this range is on a fully loaded rig or not)? The Ford lightning, for instance, drops down to about an hours worth of usage when towing. Maybe 90 minutes. That’s…. Bad. Very bad.

The Nikola Two has a driving range of up to 900 miles and can refuel completely in 20 minutes

It is only 21st century Luddites who oppose nuclear power.

Not sure, but technology IS getting there. The 250-300 mile range was cars earlier too

Walmart is buying hundreds (700+) Ecascadia for trial and over 100 Tesla's. GVW was 82,000 pounds, we're getting to where e need to be, quickly

Combo ones their working on too, it's still zero carbon though, Tesla's at 500 miles today, string battery tech is growing, we'll have it in 5 years to go 1,000 miles, easily

You mean like the French, who get 70% of their electricity from nuclear?

The governor who made this decision will likely be the next Democratic candidate for President.
I presume you'll still be voting for him.

They made a choice, a bad one imo

A record number of France's 56 nuclear reactors have gone offline for overdue maintenance and checks related to corrosion issues that first surfaced last December. Some reactors have had to cut production during the summer to prevent rivers used to cool reactors from overheating

As of Aug. 29, 57% of nuclear generation capacity was offline, based on data provided by state-controlled nuclear power group Electricite de France, or EDF.
https://www.reuters.com/world/franc...of France's,to cool reactors from overheating.

With 32 of its 56 nuclear reactors currently shut down, Électricité de France (EDF) announced on Thursday, August 25, that four of these that have been shut down due to stress corrosion and small cracks in cement works will see their non-operation extended by several weeks this fall.

France's nuclear fleet receives another blow
The extended shutdown of four reactors is fueling a surge in electricity prices, which have reached 900 euros per megawatt-hour for delivery next year, compared with less than 100 euros a year ago.

French Nuclear Power Crisis Frustrates Europe’s Push to Quit Russian Energy
France typically exports electricity, but now it risks blackouts and a need for imported power because of problems at the state nuclear operator.

But the industry has tumbled into an unprecedented power crisis as EDF confronts troubles ranging from the mysterious emergence of stress corrosion inside nuclear plants to a hotter climate that is making it harder to cool the aging reactors.

....EDF, already 43 billion euros (about $45 billion) in debt, is also exposed to a recent deal involving the Russian state-backed nuclear power operator, Rosatom, that may heap fresh financial pain on the French company. The troubles have ballooned so quickly that President Emmanuel Macron’s government has hinted that EDF may need to be nationalized.

I'd vote for a horse before ANY GOP candidate the past 20 years, extremists aren't just in the Middle East

He simply extended it 5 years BTW

Tell us, would you still be in favor of electric cars if they were nuclear powered?
(I mean of course where the power is ultimately coming from)

I mean if that were the only option, either nuclear-powered electric, or conventional cars.

But where will California get all the energy to power all those electric cars they are planning on forcing people to buy?

They can barely provide enough electric power as things are. And they've had 20 years of pro-green environmental policy to try to figure things out.

Will you admit that these electric cars were not a very good policy?

Nothing will solve climate change lol. The climate has changed from day one the planet was formed, warming good, ice age bad and has led to extinction of everything in our history.

Oh we all know including the lefties. They will import it from coal and oil fired plants and claim they're clean. The left does it over and over. In the mean time they destroy mother earth getting minerals from the earth on the back of slave labor. Maybe they can talk the chinese into letting their workers unionize lol. They don't give a crap, it's like Gore expanding his carbon footprint a 10,000times over since he became the climate czar.
