Russian army retreats from Lyman, only puppet army conscripts remain there to oppose Ukraine, and Russian conscripts post videos of the rusty old unservicable rifles Putin is giving to them. They are very badly corroded from decades of improper storage and probably don't even work. Yet that is all Russia has to give them.

The other critical issue is the economy. Oil is down to January price levels, and Russia has just imposed export tariffs for a lot of products (including oil and gas). This is not the sign of a healthy budget. Mobilization will put another damper on the economy, accelerating the effect sanctions have caused.
