Enough. I don't have anymore time to spend with people like you. You wonder why things are like they are in this country? It's because people like you and the others here simply cannot imagine anything other than what the government or corporations put on your plate.

And stop with the insults. You're 71, isn't it time to grow-up? This country is chock full of adult-children.

    Good luck to you!

You're argument is the argument made by cynics.

that's not an insult. That's an observation and a refutation, because cynic's argument is without merit.

But, you just insulted me, and tossed in some weasel words on top if it, so that makes you a hypocrite.

    Bull.

You are saying there needs to be some sort of major change. Fine. I agree with that.

But, then you ignore the superior solutions of every other first world nation!!!

And, then you fail to specify an alternative - drawing into question whether you even have one.

    Look, enough of this childishness.

If you act like this at 71, what the hell were you like when you were younger?

Go back and read what I wrote. If you on't understand what I was proposing, it is not the end of the world. Move on.

    I read your posts.

You didn't answer any of the standard healthcare questions with a proposal for how some new system would work.

Kudos to PF for not deleting this. This is among the most well written rebuttals to the vacuous posts we unfortunately are faced with from members here on the right side of the aisle on such an overwhelming basis given that their party has clearly been corrupted beyond recognition by Trumpism that I have seen allowed to survive more than a minute by this forum and it is very encouraging.

The new member you have delineated such a resounding rebuke toward has it coming and more for his lack of substance. This same member offered in an initial interaction here at PF that I had with him that body language and other forms of non-verbal or non-written communication offer far more value in any debate. Pfffttt. <Spock's Eyebrow>....

Here it is...you go to the doctor of your choice, he tells you what he charges for his services and you decide whether you want to pay for his services. If you require hospitalization, you find out what the procedure will cost and shop around. If it is an emergency, the hospital is going to have to provide services that people can afford. Otherwise, they are not going to be paid. No more sign and then they do anything they want and you're on the hook for it.

There is a lot unsaid here.

For example, it sounds like you are proposing that there no longer be standards of care, especially focusing on the fact that one of the purposes of standards of care is to ensure that those of low means aren't relegated to receiving only substandard treatment.

"Saving" our healthcare system by cutting out the care for people who don't happen to have the money to cover their healthcare problem at the time that they have the healthcare problem is NOT a solution.

It's easy to write a paragraph such as you did. But, it simply doesn't address the serious issues of healthcare.

It actually does address the serious issues of health care but you see the serious issues as, "How are we going to keep spending incredible amounts of money that we cannot afford to spend."

The problem with the current system is that it is controlled by the government and the corporations. The solutions lie in returning control of the system back to patients and providers. How much simpler can I make it?

Remember, the system worked for a long time before the government and corporations took over and it was considered the gold standard of the world. Now it's a ridiculously expensive joke.

The standard of care will be what the medical professionals [clinical and research] deem it should be not what corporations pay to have standards which make them the most money.

Control by individuals is the key to any high quality human service because only human beings can manifest compassion.

98% of the people here are just like you. If you agree with me, you are such a thoughtful and intelligent person, but if you don't agree with me, you are the horrible scum of the Earth.

And what is with this Trump fixation? I am not Republican. I could care less about Trump. I am not political, but I am against all forms of extremism and ideology that manifests itself outside of a debate. If the Right was out of control I would be saying the same thing about them but it just so happens that the greatest concentrations of morons are on the Left. Look at what these people are doing!

You probably don't understand half of what I am saying which is why you do what all people of the left seem to do...nothing. You have no arguments which support any of your non-sensical policies. You just hurl insults at people who you disagree with. It's not only pathetic but it makes for a poor debate.

so, your 'health care policy' is the same one we used to have 100 years ago.

    Not a viable idea.

False. I've not said anything remotely like that.

My comments are on how we can deliver quality healthcare to all citizens.
Yes, the idea is simple. But, your rendition fails as it is focused on giving healthcare to those with wealth, and giving little healthcare to others in order to save money.

    That's clearly unacceptable.
You need to be a lot more specific about the corporations you choose to hate and who you think is controlling standards of care.

Overall, you sound like a person uninterested in science based medicine, as what you say matches what the charlatans of homeopathy wish for as they strive for profit without any responsibility.

But one cannot debate pretentious drivel, weasel words.

    Now then,

Well, Darthcervantes, your arguments are just as incompetent, but at least you're not a pretentious hypocrite like he is.

Keep in mind that this is also likely true of Democrats. Once they take some losses, due the nutburgers, sensible folks will likely arise.

Like they did with Bill Clinton's centrist DLC that served as a counterweight to the DNC's extremism.

The Pendulum swings back and forth because the party in power governs only for their base which is no more than 30% of the total electorate. The party in power basically says to the other 70% to stick it where the sun don’t shine. This is probably the reason that since Truman with one lone exception we have had democrats and republicans exchanging presidents. D to R, to D to R, to D, to R etc. except for G.H.W. Bush following Reagan which he was promptly defeated in 1992.

Then notice the control of the house. Elect a democratic president then the house passes to the Republicans during his presidency. Elected a Republican president, the same, the house passes to Democratic control. There’s a ton of people out there who don’t want a Republican and don’t want a Democratic agenda. Both parties always go too far sooner or later, usually sooner.

1992 elect Bill Clinton, 1994 elect a republican congress

    2000 elect G.W. Bush, 2006 elect a democratic congress

2008 elect Obama, 2010 elect a republican house and 2014 a republican senate

2016 elect Trump, 2018 elect a democratic house

2020 elect Biden, 2022 probably the house goes republican in 2022. We’ll have to wait and see.

Perhaps both parties need to modify or change the way they govern, cease only governing for their base. There’s more out there in this country than just a base of a political party.

According to who? Are you the all-knowing, all-seeing omnipotent one?

Health care has been corrupted by government and corporate interests. It was the gold standard of the world before these two influences slowly but surely trashed it.

Believe it or not, individuals actually make better decisions.

This is a socialist pipe dream to be able to give everybody everything. It's like, "How can everybody live in a wonderful house?," or, "How can everybody drive a great car?" It's never going to happen.

There are three choices. One, the present system which is completely unaffordable and geared towards corporate profits and high end technology. Two, a UHC system which will be cheaper [but still unaffordable] and end up being medicaid for all [except the elite who will have their own system], and three, my non-system which is true health care system run by individuals and geared towards the interests of patients and providers [like it used to be].

People need to wake up from the illusion that you can counterfeit and create unlimited debt on your way to prosperity.

It will certainly be interesting to see how the public deals with the Democrats in the next several years. One might think that either the moderates will return the party to the liberal center but you have to believe that a great deal of damage has been done. Calling an entire race of people racist, in and of itself, would seem to have some serious lasting political consequences.

No, healthcare is not like a wonderful house or a great car.

One way you can tell that is that you aren't getting help to have a wonderful house or a great car.

Also, I think you meant Medicare, not Medicaid. And, Medicare is a method of distributing healthcare that has less overhead than do insurance companies. Plus, UHCs have the further advantage that providers don't have to try to deal with numerous insurance companies that have different policies - the problem that drove my sister in law out of her private practice.

When you refer to the interests of patients you are forgetting that the patient wants to be made healthy.

Yet, you are working on ways to NOT make them healthy.

Let's just agree to disagree. After all, what do I know? I've just been in medical practice for 40+ years. I am sure you considerably more practical experience.

You haven't added anything that requires being a doctor to understand.

Do you accept science based medicine rather than homeopathy?
