That's what you choose to believe- and to do that , you have to act in a way known as "suspension of disbelief", meaning you choose to ignore obvious elements that tell you something isn't so. That's a choice.

Suspension of disbelief would be the assumption that, lacking the proof of how it was done- it must be genuine magic, not an illusion or trick..... That puts a person in the company of those who believe in sorcery and the like.

The fact you don't know how or can't prove it was dishonest hardly makes it legitimate. However, believing it when a host of factors point firmly to fraud does say you are gullible and deceiving yourself to avoid facing something you don't want to know.
