"2,000 public school students taken to traumatizing church event instead of promised college fair"

    https://www.dailykos.com/stories/20...church-event-instead-of-promised-college-fair

"Bryant wrote in a Facebook post that while boys did push-ups and games in one area (which Bryant says was actually outside and in “extreme heat”), girls listened to speakers encourage them to forgive their rapists. Bryant said some students were so upset, they ended up crying in the bathroom. Bryant alleges some students poured water over the heads of trans students without repercussions."

talk about grooming students, what say you?

Amazing. I cannot conceive of a "progressive" analog to this, taking place; though I do know, based on the outrage expressed, and the blanketing judgements cast, from those on the Right, when there are allegations against just a single teacher, pushing a supposedly "left" agenda, that if the equivalent did occur, the Conservative reaction would be apocalyptic. Let us see what kind of "condemnations," of this event, we hear from those members who are always trashing "Liberal" influences, in education.

To save a step, for anyone who hasn't left the thread, to visit the OP link, here is the local news report, within that article.

I don't know if the story is true, but I know a one that is—a preacher at a startup Baptist church showed up at our high school on a Monday spouting that the Rod Stewart concert was cancelled over the weekend because Stewart was in the hospital and they pumped two quarts of semen out of him. Girls came to the office and complained about the creepy guy approaching them in the hallway. Four of the larger teachers escorted him out the door.

There's definitely fringe characters among pro-lifers. How many? I wonder.

Lol - that Stewart BS has been around for 30+ years. I worked in an Army ROTC office in college in the late 80s and my boss told me that he had heard about Stewart's stomach being pumped

I first thought, before I read the article, I was thinking of another Liberty University event for prospective college students. Then I read the article. The false advertisement comes to mind. This was not a college event, it was a religious event and those permission slips do not meet the legal requirements under state or federal law.

If they were honest about this, then maybe it would have been alright by those who were willing to go, but the number of people attending would have been far less.

Don't know. When I did my visits to certain colleges, my parents wanted me to go to liberty to check it out. I did and did not like it at all. But I knew what I was getting into.

I say the people or more specifically one woman making the claims of highly inappropriate behavior such as pouring water on trannies heads is highly suspicious. Especially given she claims to not know what the event was or where it was going to be held or what they were talking about and yet she was supposedly a chaperone.

And her excuse was “Do I have to google everything?”

$100 says we find out she’s lying. Especially given that one of the other children said the church groups representative came by and gave everyone information on what would be discussed and that it was going to be at a church BEFORE their parents signed permission slips.

If you read the article they were honest. They came before permission slips were signed and told them what they would be discussing and that it would be at a church.

It’s not their fault this chickenhead doesn’t want to do any type of research on a trip she’s signing off to send her child to AND be a chaperone for. And whose excuse was “Do I have to google everything?” No you stupid bitch just the things you don’t understand. Which seems to be a lot.

Clearly by this ladies comments she’s a hyper liberal and got butthurt because she was stupid enough to sign off on her child going to a church and getting preached at.

Btw I’m HIGHLY confident that all the tranny kids didn’t show up dry and then they hopped back onto the bus wet from where people poured buckets of water on their head and the staff and chaperones didn’t all throw a fit and have them charged with assault.

I call bullshit. Combine that with the fact that NO other person reported that behavior and that woman is a liar. Which means the rest of her claims are suspect as well.

I'd never heard it before. The church they started is HUGE, but didn't get going well until they got rid of the twerp assistant pastor and toned down their aggressive politics.

Closer to 40+ years and in the version I heard as a teenager it was David Bowie and Mick Jagger who both had to get their stomachs pumped.

Unfortunately, we're going to be seeing a lot more of this bait and switch tactic from the hyper-right evangelicals as they believe the Supremes are in their back pocket.

How were they honest Shadow? If the permission slip is stating that it is a career fair for seniors in high school (I don't care where it is at) but at least, make it about jobs, college, or something that relates to career fairs and not religion. From the article, " According to The Advocate, students—who attend public schools, mind you—asked their parents to sign permission slips that allowed them to miss class in order to attend a career fair." Instead, according to the article, "One student who attended the event, Alexis Budyach, said an adult read a Bible verse on stage at the beginning of the event." The article further states, "Parent Bonnie Kersch, whose daughter attended the event, told the outlet her daughter didn’t realize it was going to be so religious. Kersch said her daughter felt she was “duped” into thinking it was a college and career fair, only to be “proselytized over and prayed over."

Here is The Advocate's article link: https://www.theadvocate.com/baton_r...cle_97dc38c2-3a0d-11ed-a388-3f7b65892ceb.html

At the very least an independent investigation should be conducted on what exactly happened and if any laws were violated. But this was not a career fair or college fair of any sort. It was a religious activity at a church. Nothing more, nothing less based on the two articles and the students and parents who attended and reported it to the local newspaper.

Did not like it because you had demerits for conduct violations which staff and other students spied on you if you are a student, as a freshman, you are not allowed to have a vehicle on campus, and the classes always began and ended with prayer, which took about 10 to 15 minutes out of each class. Furthermore, I did not like the business program and pre-law program they had which basically was not what I was expecting academically. But as a good son, I obeyed my parent's wishes, attended the university with a couple of classmates, and stated to my parents that I did not want to go there and explained why.

BTW, this was a time when Jerry Falwell was still leader of the school and the church. And yes, I met his younger son, Jerry Jr at that time. And I did not like him at all. Cocky and arrogant, to say the least.

I don't think so. It was not just Ms. Bryant, who you are referring to, but about a few dozen according to The Advocate Article. They got the complaints all online, probably FB, IG, and other social media sites.

that being said, the nonprofit organization that held this event is called 29:11 Family Mentoring. On their Facebook page, it said, "29:11 Mentoring Families & EBR Schools presents Day Of Hope 2022! It’s only ONE WEEK AWAY from impacting 2,000 attendees! There will be food, fun, and most importantly HOPE to help save someone’s life! To donate or volunteer visit www.2911mentor.com."

What I highlighted in bold is worth noting. This is a reference to Christian Salvation and it's obvious from the organization's standpoint that this was not a career and college fair day, it was a religious event, pure and simple. Since they were the ones hosting it, according to East Baton Rouge School District,

From the article you just quoted:

“Coleman, a senior at McKinley High, said she was not bothered by the talks she heard during the “girl talk” segment, finding them by turns instructive and inspiring.

Coleman said she was not surprised to hear such frank talk or to be separated by gender. She said Sterling came to McKinley earlier this month and gave out additional information letting her and other students know what was going to be discussed and that it was occurring at a church.”

It’s funny not ONE OTHER PERSON mentioned her claims about them pouring water on trannies heads. Just her.

Do you believe that? If not, why should anything else she said be believed?

They were not interviewing the people, They simply took what was on their social media account. However, it still does not negate that the "career and college fair" was not what it was supposed to be, was it. You are deflecting here and it shows.
