Pennsylvania state Sen. Doug Mastriano, who is the Republican candidate for governor, said he would ban pole dancing in schools if he was elected.

"On day one, the sexualization of our kids, pole dancing, and all this other crap that's going on will be forbidden in our schools," Mastriano says while on stage at an event, as seen in a video.

He also said he would ban "graphic, pornographic books that are in elementary schools" as well as critical race theory.

FINALLY.... A candidate who truly has his finger on the pulse of what voters are thinking about.... especially in that noted sin haven of Pennsylvania...

Where has genius like this been all my life? More hilariously, that line got the biggest applause of the clip, so apparently, this pole dancing thing is a real thorn in their sides...

It's not like Josh Shapiro has governing experience..... or sanity... but I'm sure he's toast now that he's apparently on the wrong side of the National Pole Dancing in Schools debate...

Where are my pro pole dancing liberal bros on this?? We aren't going to let them remove the ONLY educational thing left in our public schools, are we??

He certainly knows how to pander to the Fox News crowd, who are told that all public schools are liberal indoctrination hellholes.

Very sellable, because many of them only did the minimum required hellhole time.....

They got out before the poll dancing classes started, so they don't know how cool it is...

This is one of those D efforts to support the most MAGA primary candidate that will pay off big time (they all may not)

Somewhere, Lou Barletta is nursing a beer and enjoying a crudite, crying "WHY?????????"

You make it sound like there’s something with saying men can get knocked up, is there?

If asked, how many democrat governors and candidates would say men can get pregnant? What would Biden, Harris and Pelosi say?

The guy said all the things I quoted below, but the obviously biased article focused on pole dancing. But I’ll say this; I bet he knows where Jackie is.

The article focused on (probably) the stupidest thing he said in the 90 second clip... the rest was regular level pandering to morons, but pole dancing in schools was some special level stupid....

I don't see how it's a bad thing either. Most schools, if not all schools don't have anything like this but even if it's a frivolous law, it's not one that actually causes harm. If anything it prevents harm from coming about as kids are meant to go to school for one thing only: To learn.

I think of myself as a conspiracy theory independent centrist. Regarding pole dancing I say it is an essential skill necessary to support the corporate driven shift to make the nation a service economy rather than a manufacturing economy. No one with any knowledge of anatomy would seriously debate the value such training provides the core. I am somewhat conservative on certain details and I do believe that it would be best to keep such lessons limited to females and passable trans women only and that it should be highly competitive, perhaps determined by beauty contests within the program at the high school level where advanced techniques are taught. Introductory elementary school classes of course should be available to all students as it may facilitate the development of their sexual identity as well as making exercise fun for them. More enlightened states like Nevada already have these classes available. Similar to more traditional home economics programs popular in New England, Nevada leads the West with its first of a kind Professional Economics senior level classes. Kama Sutra advanced tantric techniques are taught in these classes as well as basic accounting and independent investment strategies. The AAII is heavily involved in supporting these classes as is the ASPS which provides educational expertise on realistic expectations associated with surgical enhancement options.

So you think politicians running on pushing for frivolous laws is the type of people you want running?

I suspect you are in the minority there...

Whatever, should be a great campaign clip for Shapiro.... I'd run that sucker 24x7 if I were his media director...

A frivolous law is making it a crime to use the wrong pronoun. A crime.

Can you quote an MSNBC article saying that?

Of course you can’t. You made it up.

Nah, but do you think every law ever passed by Congress has been relevant? Take the so called inflation act, did nothing to combat inflation. Part of me leans towards the conservative argument on the uselessness of Congress, the less ideological congress is the better.

I would tell Republicans that if a man doesn't have a uterus at all, then they should shut their ****ing traps about what a pregnant woman can do
    with her own uterus

I was responding to @doombug who claimed the MSNBC crowd is told that. Do you want to step to @doombug’s defense and link to an MSNBC article?

Maybe she doesn’t need defending. After all, she believes men can get pregnant.

Nothing this stupid would get to first base in Congress, but sure there are different levels of relevance to Federal laws. Either of us would be hard pressed to find something this irrelevant...

This is the never-to-be Governor candidate of a State in full pander mode for a concept that isn't in the top 500 for a single Pennsylvanian, just to get cheap applause.

Needs to be called out for what it is...

You seem to come across as believing he idea of a man getting pregnant is so far out there that not even MSNBC would endorse it and here's the problem with that: If MSNBC and you don't endorse or think men can get pregnant you're in danger of being cancelled by the far left. If you believe men can get pregnant then the entire world is going to laugh at you.

I didn't watch the below video, but MSNBC gave enough thought to this subject that they did a documentary on a pregnant man. In the title they refer to the guy as Dad, a man and he's pregnant. So obviously they believe a man can get pregnant.

You were asked a yes or no question and instead of answering you went off to somewhere only you know of.

It seems you're afraid to answer if a man can get pregnant or not. One answer will shred your credibility and put you in the category of science denier, the other will get you cancelled by the left. I'm not surprised you avoided answering the question.
