I'm all for showing respect and acknowledging someone's choices on how they are perceived, but this is where the line is crossed. To accommodate one trans gender male, they stepped on the rights of 10 others rights. If my daughter had this same problem, the school would definitely hear from me, and a change to another school would be happening. Not sure if a lawsuit would be in order, but stomping on one person's rights to satisfy someone else's rights doesn't seem like a good solution.

It is cheaper, easier and less harmful to treat the mind rather than the body.

Um.... why? Why must we accommodate anyone here? Girls are girls. Boys who think they are girls are still boys, until they aren't.

Did you really just suggest that women must subject themselves to naked boys in the girls lockerroom?

So ok, if the parents of boy wants to be girl needs to have a private room, do boy who wants to be a girl's parents have to fund the private changing room? More, why does boy who wants to be a girl get to play on a girl's team? He isn't a girl, is he?

Hardly easier. Cheaper maybe. Less harmful depends on the specific circumstances.

It's also arrogant to assume a transgender person needs mental treatment to begin with.

When I was in high school we had PE everyday. But even if we were allowed to wear a "sport uniform", who wants to be walking around school all day in stinky sweat clothes? I thought Aussies were cleaner than that.

In my senior year PE was my second class of the day and in NJ during the late summer and late spring months it could be quite hot and humid and that means sweating and sweating a lot. We had to take showers because our PE consisted of running a mile, rope climbing, and all the other things that made you get soaked in perspiration. Kinda hard to hit on the girls after that if you smell like a goat.

In what way is it arrogant? The transgender person believes something which is objectively untrue.

Not actually. A transgender person is not claiming their physical gender is different than their birth gender. That's why they transition. But like so many, you're trying to combine physical gender and gender identity. There is no correlation that can be proven between physical gender and mental gender identity. Sure it most often works out that the two match, but when they don't, it can't be automatically assumed to be a mental illness in need of correction. The only folks who do that are the ones who want those people treated that way, and I don't mean medically treated, I mean socially treated.

our hospitals and gyms do it here, pretty easy, and solves the problems

a few lawsuits and it will be done everywhere (and both the left and right will be doing lawsuits)

I've told this story before and I'll repeat it now.

My mother-in-law believes DHS is spying on her. She's called the police many times, she went down to the station to try to bitch at the chief, she tore the thermostat and smoke detectors down because she believes that's how DHS is listening to her, she went door to door in her neighborhood accusing her neighbors of working for DHS, and (she now lives with the wife and me) when we got a voice controlled remote for the cable she went nuts and I had to go out and buy one that isn't.

You will never convince my MIL that DHS is not spying on her, never. The best she can do is hide it for a while, but it always comes out.

Now because she has an intense belief in something, does that make it true? For the record, we've had her 5150'd several times and she's been diagnosed with schizo, paranoia and dementia. While not uncommon, it's certainly not normal and to be left untreated.

why do you think we need boys and girls to have group showers?

that seems to be a thing of the past, no need for it

and if a trans person is diagnosed with schizo, paranoia and dementia, they too should be treated... same as a heterosexual would be

some people believe in a imaginary friend, some need help... some are Christians.... do we say all have mental issues... some might

I want them psychiatrically treated. It is very effective. 85% of gender dysphoria goes away by the end of puberty unless "social transition" and puberty blockers are emplyed. Much gender dysphoria is iatrogenic.

What is the correlation between physical and mental gender? Seems like a bunch of made up bullshit.

Are you serious? I never had a private shower in a boys' locker room.

Complete fabricated bullshit! We know a male/man/he/him when we see one. All your contrived gender-salad is garbage.

So, one, you misunderstand, there isn't a boys and girls group shower. There are boys showers, and girls showers. No? And as you suggest it is a thing of the past, why? You have locker rooms with scale because it is economically more efficient, takes less land, building size, etc. You really don't have an argument here other than you seem to chafe at the idea that many boys or many girls shower in the same room at the same time.. Are you saying that each student must then have a private shower and room for their needs? If so, why?

they each have group showers, which seem weird to me, time to just end the practice, other countries don't do this as other posters have said

What in hell is gender identity anyway? I've been told that women should never see my dick unless they want to play with it, and I don't wear dresses because they look funny with a beard and I'm too lazy to even shave let alone put on makeup every day, is that it?

OTOH I despise all sports except Women's beach volleyball, I hate working on cars and I breed Maine coon cats because I love kittens, is that problematic?

Hmm.. where? Saudi? Qatar? Your objections seem priggish. But then, is your contention that if we don't allow all inclusive showering that we shouldn't have it at all? That we should be ashamed of ourselves, and hide from the public?

This is what women should do. Simply refuse to participate with those not of their gender and things will rapidly be put in order.
