    That's a very un-American sentiment.

I think State's rights give way to a federal law, and such is what a federal election should be. Simply, the 50 separate elections cannot be run universally and that allows for the confusion surrounding the closing times, etc to occur. A federal, streamlined election is best for all. They can be ran by the 50 States, but concurrent to federal one-sized guidelines.

We don't have a federal election. We have a federal election day. We have 50 state elections. Nobody in any state can vote for anyone in another state.

Tell you what AN, I give you credit…at least you turn up today and continue to put your case. Most of the other conservatives on this site aren’t within a coo-ee of showing their faces.

    Good for you mate…

At the very minimum, we should have universal closing and counting times since it's a federal election day.

I'm a syndicalist. I have disdain for what our system has become. I used to be a Democrat until that party has left me completely. If I 'Caucasus' with Republicans, it's because we make odd bedfellows. Liberal ideals of progress have failed to make any headway to progress and have actually hindered progress in the country. Conservatism prevents the continued trainwreck off the country, but it does not advance anything.

Hence as a syndicalist, I seek to aim to topple both parties and create a new regime. A unified Empire regime.

Something like that. Even if it can't be even, it can be two reasonable closing times. To use the NBA example, 10 PM eastern games are the 7 PM west-pacific games.

When you say "you fix those issues, or mitigate them", you seem to have some misguided assumption there would be any incentive at all for someone to fix issues. The more expedient fix would be to control the media (both China and Russia do) and simply blame the west, minorities, and whatever else that doesn't involve admitting any personal responsibility. There is not going to be any fix for either country because there is no penalty for mismanagement. The measuring stick for success in an autocracy is personal power and wealth. That's it.

In democracy, it is a bit more complicated. There is a risk of losing power, unlike in autocracy. Politicians in a democracy must at the minimum appear to make changes to try and fix perceived problems. And out of power politicians will point the finger at perceived failings. Problems may not be fixed in this manner, but you will also not be jailed, or shot for saying that there are problems to begin with. In autocracy, problems are not allowed to be discussed because the autocrat is infallible.

US literacy and math ratings are irrelevant to your assertion that autocracy is more likely to work for the people than democracy. Your statement is just completely counter to the state of the world. The highest degree of wealth per capita is concentrated in the freest nations of the world.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_wealth_per_adult

The highest degree of civil freedoms in the world is concentrated in nations with political freedom

    https://freedomhouse.org/countries/freedom-world/scores?sort=desc&order=Civil Liberties

Whatever point you think you can make about autocracy being better than democracy, it is utter gibberish. The state of the world does not bear that out in the slightest. If it did, you would see mass immigration to autocracies. But you don't. You get immigrants to Europe and the US. Not so much to Russia, Venezuela, North Korea, Iran, etc.

Let's speak in the present tense. The EU's energy policies have not been good for Europe, and we the US following similar policies are having similar outcomes, even though we're a freaking ocean away! We, the Western Civilization crow too much about past victories and ignore the present.

IMO All states close at 11:59pm on Election day local time. Counting ends at 8AM the following day local time. Any not counted? Too bad. Boxes suddenly found at 8AM? Too bad.

We have early voting, there isn't a single state that doesn't have at least 2 weeks allotted for early voting that I'm aware of. (hell, Idaho (a very red state) has 22 days of early voting and you can request an absentee ballot in January of an election year) If there is, then that can be changed. Additionally, we use machines to tabulate the votes. There is no reasonable reason all votes shouldn't be counted by 8AM the following day.

Also, there is absolutely no reason that we should be accepting ballots with wrong dates, not signed, etc etc. If people aren't taking their voting responsibility seriously enough to even put the correct date or their John Hancock on a piece of paper then there is no reason we should go out of our way to help them out. We all learn how to do those two very basic things in 1st Grade.

The EU's energy policies are miles more appealing than Putin's extraction of oil wealth to the tune of 200 billion or so in riches in Russia. Importantly, one can vote for different politicians in the EU, whereas one cannot vote for a different Putin in Russia once the extraction of oil wealth for Putin's pockets stops working for the average man.

Also, pointing to policy failings of democracies does not address any of the points about the much bigger failings of autocracies.

Let's say that I concede to the failings of autocracies, the people of an autocracy though sometimes(most times) through violent means can choose one singular replacement for Putin, we in our fabled democracy have to choose from hundreds of politicians every 4-6 years and we delude ourselves that these myraid of choices actually make a difference.

It's much easier to find one person capable of administration, then it is to find hundreds. Just because those countries didn't find one, doesn't mean it's not a lot more of a cleaner system.

So you are a 'syndicalist' now? For years you were claiming you were a 'technical fascist'. Times change I guess. At least you are consistent in wanting to do away with what anyone here would understand as democracy or a 'Constitutional Republic'.

That is flawed logic. All policies fail to produce results, if they are not enacted into law, and provided time and sufficient resources to succeed. You can't blame the policies for the structural failures in the legislative and executive institutions because they never get tested in the first place. It is tactics of obstruction that fail to produce real results, not the policies that were obstructed.

Nothing changed, it's more or less the same thing. Syndicalism was the originator of Fascism. The Republic can't be revived because it was originally a 13 state union, that could be governed by the States. That's no longer the case given the intelligence of the voters. And this democracy has led to such a collapse that I exist. And others like me will exist in the future of this decadent democracy.

So it isn't really your fault that you want a dictatorship. All the responsibility of others. Gotcha.

I can certainly see why you find such common cause with Republicans.

Just a general observation, if not a particularly original one. If/when GOP candidates come back from a long way behind late in the count or win after counting takes days there will be NO GOP supporters here claiming fraud and demanding they not be sworn in. None of the 'red flags' that supposedly indicated theft by Democrats in 2020 will mean the same if Republcans win the same way in 2022. Not one.

What we can expect is yet another 'Dems cheated' campaign. Republican failures will be attributed to fraud, 'the MSM', 'RINOs' and any/every cause that excuses Republicans from having to examine if their ideas & behaviour might be connected with a poorer tha nexpected result.

We all know its going to happen. Start the stopwatch.

I already beat you to that statement, I'd like to see what would happen if the roles would reverse.

I don't find 'common cause' with Republicans, they simply for now stop the train wreck that is the current Democratic Party. If I create or join an Authoritarian party, my goal is to defeat both the Democratic and Republican regimes as out of touch with the American People.

Human nature is more conformist then it is radical. A leadership that is wise, prosperous and farsighted is far more imperative to the people.

How does waiting a few days require the need to overhaul election laws? No one is being sworn in until January.

I think what's more alarming and leads to distrust in the process is MSM yapping for months about a wave. Then when said wave doesn't happen people react like the system is broken because the "experts" got it wrong.

Lol I told y’all what was going to happen.

Not sure why y’all don’t listen. The democrats will never lose in a significant fashion again because they’ve figured out how to cheat the system. They will continue to win just enough to maintain control in the senate and presidency. Even in an election where they’re polled to get trounced in every poll except nbc, msnbc or cnn polls. They know as long as they can cheat to remain in control, even slightly, they can eliminate any opportunity to investigate their fraud.

But as I said before. The best thing that could happen for the republicans is to win the house and have the Dems retain control of the senate by one seat or a even better 5050. Because after the inflation debacle that’s coming, everybody on the planet will know they cheated in 2024.

Republicans needed to perform better after the last two years but instead they ran several weak candidates in competitive states. Walker in GA and Oz in PA are two examples. But they took the House and may actually take the Senate in the end.

Walker and Oz were godawful candidates (ideologically I am not sure that Fetterman and Oz differed all that much if at all). They weren't as bad as Fetterman and Barnes who are two worthless scumbags who never worked a day in their lives and are incapable of creating coherent sentences.

As long as we have gridlock I am happy. I am hoping for a government shutdown that last months.
