The MSM are certainly a root cause for a lot of problems.

Sorry Charlie but the LSM wasn't yapping for months about a red wave. Maybe their conservative guests were. It was one of the many things LSM and Democrats were in denial of until the very last minute.

It's the 21st century and we should be way beyond handing chads holding up the results. We have very fast computers and very accurate. The world is watching the most advanced nation in the world having to wait for days or a week for the results. And we want to be the leaders of the world? Come on MAN we can do better!

Yep, we all knew that if the red wave, which they gloated about in giddy anticipation, didn't materialize, the usual suspects would go straight back to their "the Dems are all cheats" stick. Must be fun to keep living under a rock.

Now, the REAL reasons why the red wave didn't come should actually concern all of us, and it is not because of actual cheating. It's because both GOP and Dems have gerrymandered the system to being not recognizable anymore, i.e. the new maps after the census vastly increase the number of safe seats, while reducing the number of competitive races. There will be no more waves in the future from either side, control of the House will be battled out in just a few districts, where all the money will be spent. In other words, it is politicians picking their voters by drawing crazy district lines, rather than the other way around, how it should be. Of course, it is advantage GOP in this game, because they are just more ruthless in gerrymandering.

Lol no the reason is what I said and how I said it. If you allow a party to cheat with no consequences, they’re just going to do it again. Because as long as they can retain partial power they can’t be punished.

Don’t worry. It will be so overwhelmingly apparent in 2024 after inflation hits for real and the Dems should get wiped out that even people like you won’t be able to deny it. But they’ll win just enough to retain power. And nothing will be done about it again.

Hope everyone is ready for perpetual democrat control lol

BTW Im laughing because I warned all these stupid people that said they didn’t cheat that this was going to happen.

Oh here’s another prediction for you. I GUARANTEE you that the numbers for the Dems will keep getting better as those states “find” more democrat ballots lol

Wanna make a bet on that?

Nah I didn’t think so lol

No. They really cannot. Not when the autocrat holds all the weapons, and has alliances with other autocrats to remain in power. Look at the protests in Belarus. Or Hong Kong. Or the Arab Spring. The civil war in Syria. The attempts to stop autocracy in Venezuela. Pretty much to topple an autocrat from within, you need an armed populace (most autocrats do not allow this), or the military has to turn on the autocrat. Which often ends up with the military leader just being the new autocrat (ex: Egypt, Thailand).

Democracy does not work well. But it does have some mechanism for change. Autocracy has none. Violent revolution is also something that can happen in democracy. So saying "the people of an autocracy ... through violent means can choose a singular replacement" is just completely irrelevant. In autocracy, the people only through violent means can choose a replacement. In democracy, the people instead of only through violent means, can through peaceful means, choose a replacement.

Anyways. I think this has been enough thread derailment. So I'll stop responding and go back to actually following the election results.

The outcome produces divided government and discredits Trump. Those are both good things in my book.

It's of note that many of them were militaristic from the start, with very little imperial or nationalistic standing really. The one advantage that Authoritarianism has or should have, is the ability to consolidate support and unify the nation. It is precisely because these autocrats have failed their people that they meet resistance. Interestingly in your argument, you don't acknowledge that their failure led to democratic movements. However, our ancestors were quite correct that democracy is like a child having a tantrum. Democratic states, to your point can put on a facade of care, but it's only a facade. You said you weren't gonna reply so I'll leave it at that.

I have to agree. Until we can get adults back in Washington, as opposed to the clown show this administration and the previous administration has been, gridlock is probably the best thing that can occur. It will keep them from doing more damage then they have already done.

Now that the election had gone much better for Democrats than Biden expected, will Biden make another dire speech about election deniers, or will he actually step up and be Presidential and give a message that not all or most of the fellow citizens in the country are bad people?

Why don't you hold Trump to, well, any kind of standard at all?

Trump is “livid” after GOP midterms performance, adviser says

Former President Donald Trump "is livid” and “screaming at everyone” after last night’s disappointing GOP results in the midterms, a Trump adviser who has been in contact with Trump’s inner circle tells CNN.

“Candidates matter,” the Trump adviser said.

“They were all bad candidates,” the adviser continued, critiquing many of Trump’s handpicked contenders in key battleground states.

This adviser said it’s unlikely Trump would delay his expected presidential announcement because “it’s too humiliating to delay.” But the adviser said there are too many unknowns at this point.

No sour grapes here homie. I’ll happily point you to the post where I specifically said this was going to happen and more importantly I said the best thing that could possibly happen for the republicans in 2024 is for them to lose this midterm or maybe take the house and lose the senate by 1 seat in 2022.

Because if the Dems keep control of the senate they won’t be able to blame republicans for the inflation hammer that’s coming. But if the republicans take the house and senate then that albatross will be around their necks solely in 2024.
