Rep.-elect George Santos (R-NY) argued on Monday that lawmakers should avoid focusing on “hyperpartisan” investigations, including a potential probe into Hunter Biden’s business dealings, for at least the first six months of the new Congress.
Santos told Fox News’s Sandra Smith on Monday that he wants no part of divisive investigations into the president’s son, the origins of COVID-19, Big Tech censorship, the FBI’s raid of Mar-a-Lago, the Justice Department’s memo on outspoken parents at school board meetings, or the crisis at the southern border.

    Bravo to Rep-Elect Santos...
Finally, a New GOP House Member who doesn't blindly worship.at the Altar of Trump and the Tinfoil Hats.
I wonder how many (in the New House GOP Majority) that he can get to follow this path of political sanity?

It would be great if they could focus on policy that would help the country!

I anticipate the reactions to my post from those who want to know what I think about all the Trump investigations. Any my answer - in advance - is that the Dems still managed to focus on policies and passing bills. You know, walking and chewing gum at the same time. If the republicans can do that - bring on the investigations!

I agree, Hunter probe shouldn't be a priority.

His fathers suspected involvement, etc. absolutely should be.

Whatever crimes Hunter Biden committed that didn't involve his old man can be handled the usual way.

IMO, what congress needs to do is put Mayorkas through the ringer, get him out of there and do something to secure the border. Then they should attack inflation and to do that they need to get gas prices down. They need to not fund any of Biden's woke insanity and sending billions to Zelensky should end.

We can't let the CNN types write history because we all need to know what happened with the china virus, Trump raid, weaonized DOJ, influence peddling, collusion with the media and big tech, etc.

Only to have efforts voted down by the Senate because it helps the country. Hunter Biden probably did commit a bunch of crimes, crimes that progs would spend eternity and beyond going after Eric Trump over had the tables turned, but even though I still don't think investigations should be a priority I cant help but ask -- what the **** else is there to do?

I say destroy Hunter Biden and his ties to daddy, but only pursue Impeachment if the dementia President demonstrates an imminent danger to the nation or the Hunter investigation demonstrates sleepy Joe criminal actions.

Well, he won't be invited to the Freedom Caucus anytime soon. And I have a feeling that McCarthy will put him on the most unimportant committee assignments as punishment. But another first. The first openly gay politician from the state of New York and the first Brazilian American elected into the House of Representatives.

First, the FBI/DOJ will indict Hunter Biden for tax and related crimes, but it remains to be seen on that alleged laptop, if at all. But no matter what the DOJ does, it won't satisfy certain posters on this forum nor the Freedom Caucus and try to create crimes he committed using very selective evidence. And second, there are some who are just in it for revenge and do not care for the outcome or lack of evidence.

You mean like the last three times the senate voted on charges of impeachment?

    Obviously J6 escaped notice.
Where is the challenge of cutting America's fuel supply when anyone out side of big blue city can tell you is national suicide.

We are two countries: squalid dangerous Blue cities drowning in their own filth with no way out. And Red states trying to find a way to live with the Blue state burden.

In fact, Biden 1 and Biden's 2's grifting has been going on forever and the swamp always gives fellow swamper's a pass. Try it yourself. You'll be in prison.

Most likely Hunter will get hit by the IRS, that is usually the most effective way. Tax evasion is not that unusual with drug abusers.

So ignoring the crime familia Biden is your definition of "sanity"? Laughable.

Dammit... I figured somebody would eventually noodle that one out, but was hoping he or she would stay quiet about it...

Oh well... a boy can still dream...

On a serious note, the only investigation Congress could/should have started on the Biden administration was the early days mess of the Afghanistan exit. There were problems there and I wouldn't have minded getting some more answers. I don't think would have remotely led to impeachment or mass firings, or take years, but there were mistakes made and a decent Congressional set of hearings (2 weeks tops) might have given us those answers.

Now, it's probably too late and certainly there is nobody in the GOP capable of running a serious hearing, so that moment is gone...

Impeachment has been weaponized by the Dems and you'll have to live with it. The fact is the Biden influence peddling syndicate with Biden as President now poses a national security threat ans that needs to be investigated. Hopefully the special prosecutor will be finished soon and the impeachment can begin.

He has already been hit by the IRS it is the DOJ that is on him now. Congress needs to investigation the national security implications.

I disagree. Dems need to be investigated, it’s for democracy.

That's an interesting question. And based upon a lot of the campaigning by Republicans, they agree with you. I guess they could start with all the things they thought Biden screwed up and fix them.

Maybe taking that stand during his campaign helped him get elected but really doesn't believe what he is purposing?

IF Any actual " crimes" were committed (like something involving Hunter's Taxes), and the charges can be proven in Court...
Then I would favor full prosecution...
Joe Biden has NOT committed any crimes...
    As far as "laughable"?
What is "laughable" is the idea of anybody wanting to WASTE Taxlayer Money going down "Hey Lookie! Joe Bad!" Rabbit Holes...:bored:
