Rapper Kanye West has said he intends to run for US president in 2024, despite facing several scandals over his recent behaviour.

The star, who has legally changed his name to Ye, posted a video of his campaign logo to social media, alongside the caption Ye 24.

He also claimed to have asked Donald Trump to be his running mate.

West previously ran for president in 2020, but that campaign flopped, attracting a meagre 70,000 votes.

Wait? Wasn't this the guy who was going to siphon off enough votes (from somewhere - ?) to give Mango the election in 2020??

Well, here's your second chance because.... the boys are back in town!!

(Can't you sort of see Eddie and Nick as younger versions of Kanye and Donald??)

My Current Events question - Does this donk do better or worse in 2024 than his 70K votes in 2020?? You know where I stand on that....

Rappers are one level below skateboarders. I hit skip every time I see a post about them.

I'll interpret that to mean Kanye's position on fracking won't get him your vote?? (as in, Pete Davidson was fracking my ex)

Personally, I think this is the third party candidate America has NEEDED since H. Ross shoved his big ears into our national conversation...

If Kanye can come up with a rhyme for constitutional rights for Jews in one of his raps I might give him a listen.

In his business, publicity is everything. Trump told him to "stay in their heads and they will do the work for you?

It will be a tough choice - Trump president and Ye vp or Ye president and Trump vp.

I think the more likely pairing is Trump Prison and Ye Mental Hospital or.... well.... you know...

Well, if a seditious quisling like trump can throw his toupee in the ring, why not another psychotic narcissist?
They'd make a great team if they ran together and kanye could bring in the lunatic black vote to plump up trump's maga mob.

Sedition, Trump and a racist comment - you hit the trifecta.

He certainly hit the daily double, but there was nothing remotely racist about that post. There are lunatic voters of every race and religion. Would you like to know how to identify them? They vote for lunatics...

Mango trying to eliminate the competition

    SNIP
"So I help a seriously troubled man, who just happens to be black, Ye (Kanye West), who has been decimated in his business and virtually everything else, and who has always been good to me, by allowing his request for a meeting at Mar-a-Lago, alone, so that I can give him very much needed ‘advice’," Trump wrote in a message posted Saturday to his Truth Social account. "He shows up with 3 people, two of which I didn’t know, the other a political person who I haven’t seen in years. I told him don’t run for office, a total waste of time, can’t win. Fake News went CRAZY!"
    ENDSNIP

But, OTOH, nobody would know a seriously troubled man better than another seriously troubled man..

PLEASE let Kanye last long enough to make the MAGA debate stage in 2024!!

Perot was right about what the original NAFTA deal would do to Middle Class American jobs. One can argue that the hollowing out of the middle class gave rise to Donald Trump and the likes. Where they're right is that we can't put the genie back in the bottle, but we can and should do a much better job of protecting our work infrastructure here at home so that Americans can feel self sufficient and capable, and not prone to extremism.

If Kanye is running as a Republican this will be the craziest Primary race ever.

Normally I would roll my eyes and say “what ever”… which is what I did when Trump first announced years ago. I prefer to not make the same mistake twice. An an independent with absolutely no political loyalties I prefer neither Trump nor West be elected, but I don’t rule out the possibility that they may.

    My bold prediction:
Desantis will beat Trump in the primary, and Trump will respond by running as an independent, totally Perot-ing the republicans and handing the win to the Democrats.

Mr. Ye is the comedic heir to the legacy of the late Mr. Patrick Paulson, though perhaps not his intellectual equal.

    Regards, stay safe 'n well.

Or they vote for candidates who are incapable of performing the job after having a massive stroke or for candidates incapable of performing the job due to dementia. All the same thing.
