Rubbish, the same thing happened at Colombine, they dithered between treating this as an active shooter or hostage scenario, wrong but human nature.

 

No, just wrong.
When they say ''protect and serve'' it's supposed to mean the public not themselves.

 

The guy was still shooting while they were outside listening. That would mean he was an active shooter. One of the kids called 911 from inside his classroom and told the dispatcher there were dead and hurt people in the classrooms. The gutless wonders stayed refused to pull their thumbs out and gave the gunman maximum opportunity.

 

Had they said "Here you go moms, take our armor and weapons, you're all deputies now". They'd have gone in and taken the little **** out.

 

No, I agree I would probably have acted differently but you can't put this down to cowardice.

 

Ignoring an active threat is physical cowardice. Failure to act when one has the means to help is moral cowardice. These punks are cowards on multiple levels.

 

You cannot say that, they ran to the sound of the guns.

 

They ran to the vicinity of the sound of gunshots then halted at a safe distance until someone with bigger balls turned up and did their jobs for them.
If unarmed British bobbies can put themselves in harms way to protect the public then these officers have no excuse.

 

But that's not the truth. They listened to the guns and did nothing. They didn't 'run to the sound of the guns', they avoided the gun and stayed safe outside while there were hurt kids inside with a killer. They knew what the situation was and decided not to act.

 

You should know "ride to the sound of the guns" is a military catchphrase. It is an appeal to aggressive action at the point of battle. You are misusing it.
