    snip

The cuts are not a surprise, with Licht warning employees in late October that the news division would be undergoing a restructuring, citing “widespread concern over the global economic outlook.”

But they do come amid decreasing morale at CNN, which has already seen significant turnover this year since the Discovery merger. One of the first moves made after the merger closed was to shut down the CNN+ streaming service, laying off a couple hundred employees in the process.

Since then, the company has also made cuts at CNN Digital, and saw a handful of high-profile on-air anchors and correspondents depart

No number on the amount of folks being canned right at the XMAS season. More casualties of the train wreck economy and I'm not sure if those hitting the bricks will find employment within the same field.

The worst thing that ever happened to CNN was the defeat of Donald Trump in the 2020 election. After that it was all downhill for them because their views didn’t have a voodoo doll to hate any more. All that was left was CNN’s second rate, lousy reporting.

Don't you get tired posting your daily doom and gloom, accusing the Dems of wrecking the economy?

BTW: 2008, we lost 2.8 million jobs during that year, that's an average of 7,600 a day. Where were you then complaining about daily layoffs? Or worrying about the people losing jobs before Christmas?

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...ayoffs&o=date&c[title_only]=1&c[user][0]=6512

Oh, yes, you were nowhere to be seen. Why? Because the layoffs happened under the guy YOU voted for, so, therefore, they didn't matter to you.

Now, with Biden in office, it's a different story for you, and we haven't even gotten to a full recession yet. It's all about blatant partisanship and mindless blame game. Actual economic don't really matter to you.

And, there, we wonder why politician's propaganda is successful. Well, it's not just the politicians spewing the propaganda, the Fox News viewers are all too happy to do the dirty work for them.

P.S.: Dow up 1.5% today. I wonder why you don't start a thread about THAT (and no, it's not thanks to Biden).

George W. Bush turned out to be a disappointing failure.

Are you happy now? I was not posting here then.

A cable news network lays people off because they’re not making money.

They’re not making money because advertisers are either staying away or paying less.

They’re staying away and paying less because the ratings are low.

The ratings are low because no one watches them

No one watches them because they suck.

And there is your root cause analysis.

Kind words? I condemn the companies who lay off workers for more corporate profits, especially before Christmas. I support the workers who have been laid off to receive unemployment benefits. Do you? Or do they become lazy moochers to you, the moment they lose their job, after you have used them as cheap partisan fodder for your propaganda?

I don't know if it was you or someone else, but a few weeks ago a lib made a post saying the market was up 500 points and gave Biden credit for it. The next day it all came tumbling down.

I hope your post doesn't jinx the market tomorrow.

It wasn't me. And I don't start threads about (to paraphrase) "market is up, thank you Biden". No, in contrast, we saw many (to paraphrase) "market is up, thank you Trump" threads in 2017 and 18 (funnily enough, that stopped in 19 and 20, wonder why?).

I also don't claim the the market won't go down tomorrow. My post is in response to the cherry picking of bad economic news by the OP, to make his Dems are the devil point.

Libs are abandoning MSM. Media is too toxic these days. Righties need to the same and abandon MSM.

    This "trend" seems quite alarming...
Lots of this "stuff" going around...

And, there will No Longer Be "Full Democratic Control"...

At that point, expect everything to turn around...:flagus:

CNN layoffs are not Biden's fault and have nothing to do with the current economy

    It is Trump's fault

He stopped being President and CNN lost the bulk of its viewership

You don’t seem to understand that a business is not like the Federal Government. It can’t create money out of thin air, and it can’t levy taxes to pay people. It has to generate revenues to pay people.

I dare say that those who are getting laid off are getting severance packages which means that they will be off for holidays. Few business hire permanent workers in December.

Working for a company that is losing money is no fun. I’ve been there, and it sucks.

Biden caused his own economic problems. On the first day of his administration, he shut down the Keystone Pipeline. The goal was to drive up the cost of fossil fuels to force the population toward “clean energy.” It succeeded brilliantly. It got inflation off to a flying start because energy cost affect almost every segment of the economy. Since then Biden has done all he could to limit oil production, and has doubled do on that with his “no more drilling” pledge.

Next, Biden began his massive spending programs. If he had had his way “build back better” would have been far larger and damaging to the economy. Biden could not have done better if he had taken out a gun and aimed at his own feet.
