The point being it is not given the same coverage as a "mass shooting" even though the consequences might be just as severe.

My lord...the consequences were nowhere near as severe as mass shootings. Mild to moderate distress is nowhere near as severe as death. This shouldn't have to be pointed out to people.

The consequences aren't even in the same ballpark.

All of those kids are perfectly fine today.

In order to qualify as a mass shooting, no one has to die.

How many school mass shootings have there been where no one died? How many school mass shootings where people died?

How many drug overdoses have there been where no one died? How many drug overdoses where people died?

The number of school shooting deaths and injuries are miniscule compared to the number of drug overdoses deaths and injuries.

The thread subject is about kids, not adults. Adults overdosing is due to a choice to use drugs. Kids getting killed at school is not a choice.
Bloody hell...this is why I don't bother with this person directly. I'm out.

While yes, the results here aren't anywhere near what they've been in mass shootings, there's no denying that drug deaths are not plastered all over the news like mass shooting deaths are. That's the larger point here and it's perfectly valid, don't dismiss it.

    https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2022/02/03/what-the-data-says-about-gun-deaths-in-the-u-s/

It's not even close, drugs kill far more than guns. And many of those gun deaths were from suicide (24,292).

The larger point of the thread is the overwhelming discrepancy towards new/media coverage of guns vs drugs. This point is valid and accurate.

The reason why is crystal clear too. Guns issues are political to the left and so they get coverage while drugs aren't and so they aren't covered near as much. However, given the data, it's clear this discrepancy in coverage shouldn't exist, but does all because of politics.

You an downplay this particular story all you want, but the underlying point is accurate.

Lets look at it from a different viewpoint. Many children are scared to go to school because of school shootings. They do not have that same fear towards drugs even though the odds of being killed by drugs are hundreds of times greater.

I have been seriously wrong all this time. I thought the reason you were avoiding me was because I reported you for repeated personal insults.

Would you rather your child be murdered or have them experience mild distress for a few hours? Be honest.

Fentanyl is the leading cause of death among young and middle aged Americans.

Just stop. You didn't have a response to my post. Everything I said was accurate. You didn't like it so now you've resorted to condescension and deflection. You can run along now.
