According to this article, Griner is presumably being forced to work 16 hour days in a penal colony.

Since a day is 24 hours, and a typical person requires 8 hours of sleep (especially if doing hard labor 16 hours a day), that won't leave her time to do anything else.

It says that all that is known is she is in a penal colony in Mordovia, and her exact location is unknown.

 

What an asinine piece, levelling allegations with no evidence. Don't get me wrong, I think she's getting the short end of the stick. But all they're able to document is that she's in a labor camp, exact location unknown, & conditions unknown except for unsubstantiated anecdotes. She's self-absorbed, greedy, hypocritical, entitled, ignorant, and anti-American. These traits led her to a Russian labor camp. She protests the U.S. for racial and sexual discrimination and then goes to play for a country whose government is openly hostile to her sexuality and whose people have been openly hostile toward her skin color.

Pointing out hypocrisy does not mean that people disagree with freedom of speech.

She does not deserve her punishment IMO. But she did earn her punishment through her actions.

A star player in the WNBA makes her a public figure. If she wasn't a public figure, would she make a big deal out of dissing the Star Spangled Banner? No it was part of her public act! She won a lot of public disdain for that!

Not quite the NBA but when I went to a Suns game a couple weeks ago, they have a Marque promoting the WNBA and her picture was there bigger than life. I don't follow soccer either but I don't diminish the ones that do. They are all talented athletes including Brittany so don't try and pi** on my xhoes and tell me it's raining!

By the way, at that Suns game, everyone stood, hats off hands over hearts and one of the most beautiful renditions of the Star Spangled Banner was played, A huge cheer went up when it was over! Wish Brittany could have seen it!
