No one is "deciding which life takes precedence". Abortion or NOT having abortion rarely kills the mom. But abortion kills the unborn child EVERY TIME. There's no CHOICE involved.

Yes, condoms break. But very rarely. Cars crash too, but we still all use them. Nothing is 100% in life. If you want perfection, blow your brains out, you won't find perfection in THIS life. But ALMOST perfect does just fine in most cases. Condoms, IUD's, THE PILL, and diaphragms did just fine for millions of us wending our way through the sexual revolution of the 1960's and 1970's.
Millions of people don't care about the life of the unborn child. Millions of people do. The VOTERS in each state will decide.

Rapes are not as rare as you make them out to be, studies have put rapes are only reported between 16% and 40%.

Not to mention the number of pregnancies that are accidental (birth control failure), are unable to consent (all pregnancies under the age of 16-18 depending on the state) or are having a child with a major medical issue.

The 4th Amendment guarantees privacy and autonomy. That should apply to women, not just men. The federal government most definitely has jurisdiction over denial of civil rights. My neighbors in my state should certainly not have jurisdiction. You really think voters should decide the fate of a woman?

Pregnancy, like many medical conditions, can be dangerous. It's a factor in deciding whether or not to have babies. Not all of us are built for it, and giving birth could cause harm or even death. Sometimes there is something wrong with the fetus, and some fetal abnormalities don't show up until the third trimester. Many women are waiting until their late 30s to have children, which increases the risk of complications. Would you be okay with your neighbors deciding whether you live or die?

Christians in this country are the ones who have been driving towards the demise of Roe v Wade for decades. Don't tell me religion has nothing to do with it. They have had everything to do with it. They are the ones claiming that every fetus has a soul from the moment of conception. That's fantasy, not fact.

None of that should ever matter if the 4th Amendment applies to all of us. It should never be any government's business if I'm pregnant. I should have the same right to privacy and autonomy as you do. As for the Christian right in America or elsewhere, they should all just butt out. If they are so convinced that abortion is murder, why don't they trust their dear fluffy God to take that into account at our ending?

The right of privacy applies equally to men and women. I fail to see what this has to do with the killing of an unborn child. Voters have the right to save the lives of unborn children, if they so desire.

Pregnancy can be dangerous but then again, so can walking on an icy sidewalk. The solution is to not walk on an icy sidewalk in the first place. Similarly, one can use a condom, a diaphragm, an IUD or a birth control pill to not get pregnant in the first place.

Religion had nothing to do with the Dodd decision. Abortion isn't mentioned in the Constitution so the federal government has no jurisdiction. Again, in accordance with the Constitution, powers not given to the federal government revert to the states. There is nothing about religion in that entire process.

A woman's pregnancy is none of my business. Murdering an unborn child... IS. Many voters will support you in believing unborn children should be murdered, many won't. Voters will decide in each state. That's how democracy works.
