    1. West did not have to resist Russia Militarily. Small Ukraine is doing that with a fraction of Russia's military force.
    2. West has already resisted Russia economically again, and again and again.
    3. Russia is trying its best to collapse western economies, but this is just a bump in the road until the West switches to other suppliers. Give it a year and come back and see how well we survived and how well Russia is doing a year from now. I bet you be surprised.

Crews race to repair Ukraine's energy system as hospitals suspend planned surgeries after Russian strikes

Repair work on critical energy infrastructure facilities across Ukraine continued Wednesday, in an effort to fix the ongoing power deficit caused by Russian strikes.

“The gradual restoration of the power system after the missile attacks continues…The situation in the east of the country remains difficult -- last night, the enemy one more time shelled several infrastructure facilities, while the temperature in the region reached -17 C,” Ukrenergo, Ukraine's state-run energy operator said Wednesday.

“Repair crews are working to eliminate the consequences of the missile attack in Kyiv and Odesa regions, restoring power supply to the regions under backup schemes,” it continued, adding that there was still a “significant deficit” in the nation’s power system, triggering limits on consumption.

Some background: On Monday, Russia unleashed a wave of drone and missile attacks across Ukraine, targeting the country's energy infrastructure. Ukraine has been facing a wide assault on critical infrastructure and power sources since early October.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the strikes caused extensive power outages in several regions, including Kyiv and Odesa.

Power deficit: Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that after Monday's attacks "power engineers promise to eliminate the consequences" in the coming days.

"At the same time the power deficit in the energy system will remain. Currently, it is 19% of the forecast consumption."

On Tuesday, Ukraine’s health ministry announced the suspension of planned surgeries in an effort to insulate the medical system from the impacts of rolling power outages.

"They will be carried out when the situation around the supply of electricity stabilizes…all emergency medical care will be provided to patients in full," the statement said.

    Ukraine Conflict Updates

Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, December 6

Click here to read the full report.

    Key Takeaways

    • The Kremlin directly responded to Russian rumors of a second wave of mobilization in an apparent effort to manage growing societal concern and recentralize information about the war with the Russian government and its authorized outlets, but there are several indicators that Russia still intends to conduct a second wave of mobilization.
    • Igor Girkin, a former Russian militant commander and prominent critical voice in the Russian milblogger information space, returned to Telegram following a nearly two-month stint in Ukraine and used his return to offer a vitriolic first-hand account of the situation on the frontlines.
    • Ukrainian forces likely made recent gains in northeastern Kharkiv Oblast, and Russian forces conducted limited attacks and defended against Ukrainian counteroffensive actions.
    • Russian forces continued to conduct ground attacks near Bakhmut and Avdiivka.
    • Russian sources claimed that Russian forces made marginal territorial advances near Bakhmut, but Russian forces have not succeeded in their efforts to surround the city.
    • Russian authorities are very likely conducting an information operation to convince Russians of the security and integrity of the Kerch Strait Bridge following repairs to the bridge span.
    • Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Spokesperson Maria Zakharova denied rumors on December 5 that Russia is preparing to withdraw from or transfer control of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) to another actor.
    • Russian occupation authorities continued to strengthen security measures in occupied territories. . . .
Ukrainian forces have likely made recent gains in northeastern Kharkiv Oblast as part of ongoing counteroffensive operations. The Ukrainian General Staff indicated on December 5 that Russian forces shelled Ukrainian positions near Tavylzankha, Bohdanivske, and Lyman Pershyi (all about 50km northwest of Svatove and 15km south of the international border), indicating that Ukrainian troops have likely made limited advances in this area.[14] The Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) also inadvertently indicated that Ukrainian troops have taken control of Kyslivka (25km northwest of Svatove) by claiming that Russian strikes targeted a Ukrainian command post in Kyslivka on December 5.[15] Russian sources claimed that Ukrainian troops continued to attack Russian positions northwest of Svatove between December 5 and 6.[16] . . .

Russian authorities are very likely conducting an information operation to convince Russians of the security and integrity of the Kerch Strait Bridge following repairs to the bridge span. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin announced on December 5 that Russian authorities completed repairs to all four road spans of the Kerch Strait Bridge following an attack on the bridge in September.[47] Russian media outlets and milbloggers circulated footage of Russian President Vladimir Putin himself driving across the bridge, likely an effort to convince Russians that the bridge is stable and secure enough for Putin and therefore the rest of the populace.[48] Such an effort is likely part of a broader information operation to suppress panic over the prospect of a potential Ukrainian counteroffensive in southern Ukraine that could eventually threaten Russian positions in Crimea and the few logistics lines connecting Crimea and the rest of occupied southern Ukraine. . . .

You forgot to mention the fact that Ukraine's military was done and dusted a few months back. It is mercenaries, NATO and 101 Airborne that are fighting Russia.

Also, Russia has not committed all of its military to this operation.

Ukraine in no way or form looks done and dusted as they are marching towards Crimea as we speak. In fact, Russia's military in this war look dusted, but not done yet as they are like a rabid dog that is clinging to life.

And, Russia has committed enough to show they do not have enough ammo nor soldiers to compete. In fact, they had to conscript office workers who had to supply their own armor to go stand on the front lines like cannon fodder with no training. That is how desperate Russia is right now to not lose this war that they are losing.

How long before they start conscripting people they pay to post on message to spread misinformation?

This is false. NATO forces and the 101st Airborne are not taking part in the fighting. Nor would it need to. Russia is not a superpower which would require our participation. Take the a$$ whooping in Syria as an example. We absolutely humiliated the Russia forces who attacked our forces without even using our full capabilities. In other words, you will know when/if we get involved. It will be quite clear and wouldn't amount to more than a few days excursion.

In the run-up to Desert Storm, General Schwarzkopf was asked by a reporter how observers could tell preliminary actions from the start of actual offensive operations. Schwarzkopf's reply: "When we begin, you'll know."

Russia wouldn't be in Ukraine today if it were NATO fighting their pathetic gang of Wagner mercenaries and conscripted civilians.

Maybe you need to be better informed, as it appears that you lack your own common sense.

You may need to look elsewhere for your info. As LSM doesn't cover half of what's going on.

    NATO

Who do you think operates the HIMARS and drones? The Ukie military has all but been vanquished, other than a very small number.

    Really?
Just because you're ill-informed, you call 'new' and challenging information, "misinformation". No wonder western society is dumbed down. Just looking at one side of a narrative doesn't qualify as knowing what the truth is.

    False is it?
Why? Is it because LSM doesn't cover it?
You're using historical events to compare current ones (Syria). It is irrelevant.

Idiocy only comes from within, looked in the mirror lately?
BTW, the challenge has been accepted and overcome. Anything else?

The "boys" left for training. On their return, they'll have earnt their 'right of passage' to manhood. Once again, your misappropriation of perspective. Leaving Russia! :roflol:

Putin said today they have 150,000 heads as a strategic reserve.
Sounds kinda low, if you ask me. :)

Hence Putler's nuclear bluster. He wants ruZZia to appear strong despite its very obvious weakness in Ukraine.

Oh, based on a 'slapping' competition gif. at that, because they added the flags of both nations? Hmm, thought as much. Is that the type of process that you get after LSM narrative that covers or lack of it?

    Did you miss this heading?

"101st Airborne Deployed to Ukraine’s Border ‘Ready To Fight Tonight’
A commander said, "this is not a training deployment, this is a combat deployment"

"Brigadier General John Lubas confirmed nearly 5,000 troops from the 101st Airborne recently joined the 100,000 American soldiers already deployed to Europe. Lubas described his troops as being on “full deployment,” and they are preparing to fight Russian soldiers in Ukraine. “This is not a training deployment, this is a combat deployment for us. We understand we need to be ready to fight tonight,” he said."

Doesn't the US Congress have a say in these matters any more?

Who is operating the HIMARS and drones? The Ukies are done. Only potato & pig farmers are on the front line.
Interesting you don't mention anything about the other two areas, mercs and NATO.

I thought you were smarter than that.

"ready to fight" IN NO WAY MEANS "engaged in combat" and if your head isn't in your ass you would admit that.

The U.S. doesn't make a practice of employing mercenaries.

And the U.S. is NATO. No NATO forces could ever be engaged in combat without the approval of the U.S.

It's not a matter of "me being smarter than that", it's about your inability to read between the lines.

Who is to say Ukraine doesn't? (Mercs)
Why are they on the starting blocks then? (101)
So the EU/ European end of NATO bows down to the US. Who's backyard is this being fought in? Europe's or the US?

It seems you're beginning to understand that the USG is the one pulling the strings on everything. Seems you're finally learning something.
