This is the concept behind the new TV series "The Last of Us". Humans being turned into zombies by fungi. The show is based on a video game.

The bar has sure gotten quiet these days. The dust bunnies and cob webs have taken over. :(

I haven't been as regular since the divorce. I've been working 60 hrs/wk and searching for land to build a house on. I'm doing well though. I'll try to check in more.

I go to see my granddaughters in a few weeks in Delaware. "The Papa" is excited.

I put in an offer over the weekend for 6.7 acres outside of Canton, TX. The area and the town are beautiful. The county road is full of homes on 5-10 acres and I'm only 5 miles from Canton First Monday Trade Days.

Is the flea market somewhere you will be participating in? Or just a fun time.

Is there are house on the acres?

Used to go there quite often some 40 or more years ago, lotsa of funny stories, like the time buddy
John traded a '59 Barbie for half a PU load of dolls. We pulled in and th eold ladies went wild, once the first onslaught subsided some one of them said.. "you sold a Wetting Betty " for $5!?" and offered to take over for a commission.. so we were out of there! Free to scour the other (at that time) 20 acres of really neat stuff!
Went back years later (perhaps ten years later) with a sampling of Life and Look magazines, and it was absolutely overwhelming at that time.. every available piece of turf from a few miles out of town to center mass was covered with antiques and collectibles!

I've got a good Canton load now, too bad it is across the entirety of Texas.

Right now, it's just a pasture. I'm buying it with a Texas Veterans Land Board loan and I have cash to build a barndominium on it. Once my house is built, I may dabble in the shop to make some stuff to sell at First Monday. I'm thinking cutting boards, fractal wood burning art, custom barn doors, custom light fixtures, and eventually dehydrated fruit and honey if I can get it all working. That's a couple of years away.

There's a lot going on and I haven't even bought the land yet.

The seller gave me a counter offer and I think I'm going to take it. It's not official yet, but it looks like I'm building in Van Zandt County.

There is honesty, and there is unnecessary honesty.

Someone presents you with their baby, who unfortunately is ugly. Do you say the baby is ugly? No, you say the baby has beautiful eyes or some such. You are still being honest, without hurting someone's feelings unnecessarily.

Just walked back after a day's threshing and there was a fox trotting past the back of my truck.
I turned the corner and it was about 10' in front of me.
Saw a red kite today as well.

Squirrel's new cage. The top of the rectangle measures 2 ft by 3 ft and it has a floor in the Middle with a hole cut in it where it can go upstairs and downstairs. Girlfriend says it's too big for the front porch so I got some roofing tin and made it a nice dry area on the back porch.

About midnight I make a pot of coffee here at work and I make it double strong.

Not many people are hunting gas station coffee between midnight and 3:00 a.m. but if they do I warn them that if they don't like it strong they better add some hot water to it.

In general..... People, not much of a fan.

My boss man invited me and my girlfriend over to use his side by side and ride around his 75 acres.

He said the cows won't bother you but I could swear they looked a little pissed off when we got too close in a tight spot on the trail.

Cattle usually see any vehicle in their pasture as a feed delivery vehicle and they get very curious. Just don't honk a horn or they will come running.

They certainly did seem to think we had food. No horn to honk on this side by side. I rode my dirt bike out there before but I haven't rode since about July and then the hurricane September the 28th had large oak trees down everywhere and lots of fences needing repair.

We may do some camping out there when the weather warms up. He said I can do anything I want out there as long as it's not illegal. Saw a bobcat today and there are coyotes and feral hogs out there.

Would you believe with all those high and dry palmettos that he said he's never seen a diamond back out there and he's owned the place over 30 years. There's also a pond out there to fish and some relatively damp lowland areas. It's peaceful and quiet out there

I leave them alone, no need to ever kill any snake.
