Yale honors the work of a 9-year-old Black girl whose neighbor reported her to police

Can you prove that Coca cola told their employee to be less white or you just want me to take your word for it. Can you show me a press briefing coca cola had about "less white" or you just want me to take a Online guy's word as fact? if you can't provide that , i don't give a hoot about what you have to see!

What research? You made an assertion and when called on it you can not support it. In other words it was a lie.

 

A. He called the police dispatcher. That is not the nonemergency phone number. Members of the City council in some cities do have access to that private number.
B. That is not what he said. He literally said, "There’s a little Black woman walking, spraying stuff on the sidewalks and trees on Elizabeth and Florence. I don’t know what the hell she’s doing. Scares me, though.”. That is not the same as you are trying to make it out to be." That does not sound like someone who was lost or has dementia. If that was the case, what he said would have been much different. And his attorney, in said article, "“He (Lawshe) did not want to become involved in a confrontation, so he called the Caldwell police to look into the matter. Mr. Lawshe did not call 911 but called the police non-emergency dispatch line. Mr. Lawshe had no reason to believe that he would be putting anyone in harm’s way by calling the police.” That too is an explanation of what he literally said as a reason why he didn't go out. If a lost girl or an old lady, he would not have been scared and would have helped, which is what normal, rational people do.

 

Some people have reacted that way as an explanation of why police were called on a girl who was catching butterflies. But as I said, the only two logical possiblities after what he literally said to the police is that it may be racism or the city council member is dumber than a second coat of paint. take your pick.

Again, if someone is catching butterflies, they have a net, a spray bottle, and a backpack with a jar or jars in the back to collect them. At the same time, you cannot explain the fact why a black FedEx driver was being detained, in a FedEx Truck, with him wearing the company's shirt, etc, on being "suspicious" or that people call the police on walking the dog, or a person taking care of the flowers of someone else's yard all the while telling the police that they are scared and indicated they are out to do harm.

 

There are a near infinite amount of reasons why this happened, yet you chose the binary possibilities that suit your world view. Simply put, this fake racism stuff is losing its potency quickly.

What is true that the neighbor described the 9 year old little girl he knows all too well as "a little woman".
And since what the neighbor obvious lied, and insert it's "scary".... it's just an obvious race thing without needing to mention the race.

It would have been a world of difference if he was honest and told the cops that the 9 year old little girl across the street is scaring him.
The cops wouldn't have bothered with such a call.

So the reason why the girl is being honored the guy is being shamed is because the guy is white and the girl is black.

No, going by what he said to the police dispatcher, which narrows those possibilities a lot. What you are doing is trying to play armchair quarterback and pretty much ignore what he literally said to the dispatcher.

The girl is honored because she collected 23 rare, invasive butterflies in her neighborhood that would have destroyed the trees if she had not killed and collected them. This is irrespective of what the neighbor did.

The city council person is being shamed because of what he said to the police dispatcher. He literally said that he saw a little girl painting the trees or something and that he was scared. What he was doing was trying to say the person he saw was a threat to the neighborhood

 

Then tell that to the city council member who cannot go back in time and take back what he said to the police dispatcher.

The guy saw someone acting weird in his neighborhood. He pointed out she was black so that the cops could identify the individual. The only reason you think he did something wrong is because she is black and he isn't. If they both were black or both white this gentleman would seem as just a concerned citizen.
