I don't think it is too much off topic. The parallels are actually quite stunning. Bibi, too, is facing charges due to his corruption. He is escaping these charges by having a horde of extremist voters protecting him, and by undermining the judiciary. Just like Trump, he is using every means to stay in power and evade facing justice.

Let's see what kind of excuses his fanclub will come up with to defend his baseball bat picture. They surely won't stop their support of him because of this. Nothing will stop their support, even if he shot someone in daylight on 5th Avenue.

Agreed 100%, but their electorate knew this and he was still reinstalled by coalition?! That to me that is the stunner. It seems to be occurring everywhere in the last decade+. Pretty sure that the destabilization of democracies is on the agenda of China, Russia and many Arab countries but how the **** did we miss it because this phenomenon accelerated with the advent of social media and the Bush/Obama Admins.

Should I start with the hundreds, maybe thousands of death threats against journalists, the pipe bomber, the rioters on Jan 6th or something else?

Because Trump hasn't been indicted yet. The envelope with powder is a threat that things will get worse if their messiah faces justice.

That would be a sweeping generalization fallacy and does not come anywhere close to "probable". Thats the same fallacy used by racists.

So, "if it was good enough for George Floyd, it's good enough for me." response.

    Rioting is wrong.

But someone dying vs. someone being indicted are very different.

George Floyd was making threats on Truth Social?

You have to know that post makes no sense to anything in this thread...

Highlighted in red: just my opinion, but I think you're wrong on this one. I believe his base is shrinking, but that is mostly anecdotal. Many who I know voted for him in 2020 don't want him to run again. Some would vote for him regardless because they have to vote against a Democrat, but most would prefer a different Republican candidate. Since Trump is so polarizing, he very well may be the Republican candidate in 2024. A shrinking base from a losing campaign isn't doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in me. He will never win a majority in a national election. That's my opinion.
Highlghted in blue: I can agree that we get, as Americans, hyper critical of things. There are people out there, lots of them, that bristle just by the thought of Trump, and overreact to every thing he does and says.
But then he does and says things that are just so ridiculous or inflamatory, I don't think any reasonable person should blame them for their outrage. Trump did very little that most other Republican wouldn't have done in office policywise. But he made getting things done a lot harder with all the bs, because, in the end, he really didn't know what he was doing.
I did not vote for Trump either time. When he beat Hillary, I said "well, I hope he turns out better than what I expect". I really did hope that he would do, as he said, and my father swore he would, be more "presidential". We were both disappointed. Along with many moderates. That's why Biden is president. The middle went for a moderate. Trump's too toxic and extreme, and has gotten way more so since he lost to Biden.
Sorry, opened a beer and started typing. I'll stop now........................

You said death and destruction was good enough for Floyd, so it's good enough for Trump.

People are more likely to riot over an egregious death over an indictment. At least Trump will get his day in court.

Yeah, a tad of exaggeration based on the title of the thread.
As did those responsible for Floyd's death - did that stop the rioting and destruction?

Trump gets to defend himself in court. Did Floyd get to?

No because unlike you they have not called all rightists Trump supporters nor have they taken to the streets engaging in violence and calling on people to break laws and engage in violence as Trump and his supporters do.

Was that like a trick question or are you still unable to balance your surfboard...
