The Largest Source of Stolen Guns? Parked Cars.

NASHVILLE — On a Sunday in January 2022, a Glock 9mm pistol, serial number AFDN559, disappeared from a Dodge Charger parked near a Midtown Nashville bank after someone smashed in the rear driver’s side window.

Ten months later, Nashville police officers arrested three teenagers suspected in a series of shootings, and discovered a cache of weapons in a nearby apartment. Among them was AFDN559. Forensic analysts would later tie the Glock to three shootings, including an attack in August that wounded four youths and another that wounded a 17-year-old girl in September.

In a country awash with guns, with more firearms than people, the parked car, or in many cases the parked pickup truck, has become a new flashpoint in the debates over how and whether to regulate gun safety.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2023/03/25/us/illegal-guns-parked-cars.html

More reasons to require trigger locks and insurance policies taken out by gun owners to cover the cost to society of their weapons being used in the commission of a crime after being stolen.

It has nothing to do with that.

I'm looking at the results with the data we have right now.

Before you get to that, get to the point of admitting that guns make the country more dangerous.

    That's the first step.

There are no more criminals in the U.S. than in other Western nations.

    This is a false argument.

The difference here is that the system makes it easy for them to get a gun, which is the most effective tool for committing a crime.

    Go find the answer yourself.

Prove to me that it's because citizens don't use their guns enough for defensive purposes that there is so much crime.

You want a statistic. How many homicides happen at gun shows or gun shops? If you can show a high number happen there then perhaps you might have a good argument.

You try to run away as soon as you feel stuck.

You defend the proliferation of guns? Yes.

Then how does more guns make the country safer?

It's the same question over and over... for 41 pages.

No, but democrats are predominantly anti gun people. Therefore, it follows they would be less likely to own a gun (unless the double standard comes into play again).

We would be safer from accidents and criminal activity with fewer guns. But that does not mean they can magically go away with no consequences.

However, the longer view is that the guns are protected because of the possible need to protect ourselves from enemies, foreign and domestic.

You do understand the meaning of the words "less likely", don't you? The Democrats are well known advocates of more gun control and banning guns. Unless they are hypocrites, it therefore follows that they wouldn't possess a gun.

They have, and all these attempts by the states to circumvent it are quickly building a fortress of case law around it, but, the judges coming on the federal bench, being appointed by the guy who picked Kamala, check intersectional boxes, know woke, and nothing else.

Look at how ignorant Joe's judicial nominees are.

    It's obvious.

But very few 2A pros will admit that.

Now that that's said, how do we reduce the number of guns in the country?
