So I understand that there is little sympathy for gathering victims since most of them are either immigrants or illegals. I refuse to called illegals “immigrants “ since they are here as criminals who committed breaking and entry (illegal) into the country. I came here legally as a toddler tagged along with my parents and I do not appreciate either liberal do good.ers calling illegals “immigrants “ nor do I appreciates the right wing gebonees equating me a legal ( and American citizen) immigrant to illegals. I bet you never had an adult who was holding a bible walk across the street and yell at you ( age about 5 +. ) while you were riding your first two wheeler. The words she spewed out were ‘ you DP’s you hate Yankees ( Americans) but you love the Yankee ( American) dollar. You come here and you take our jobs and take our rents. Go back to where you came from.’ She had walked over from some sort of a “church” that was in a residential house. A DP was the acronym for Displaced Person being people who were displaced from their home country ( my parents) and could not go back. Reason is that Russia took over my parents home country and my father would have been executed for being an anti Soviet nationalist and my mother would have been sent to Siberia as was her father. I am sure that jobs that my dad “stole “ from Americans in the first few years were not wanted by Americans.

If you think that the woman was sowing love and reading from her bible and thanking the Lord that we DP’s were safely living in the best country in the world you are grossly mistaken. I had suppressed that incident for many years until the immigration news about 20-25 years ago came creeping out. There has always been anti immigrant fever in this country starting in the 19 century with the Irish. Then it went on for the Asians, Italians, EasternEuropean Jews etc.

Still I hold that illegals are just that illegals not immigrants such as my parents who were vetted, had undergone background checks, and lived in a refugee camp for a number of years until it was their turn to be counted in the immigration quota. I was a toddler when I stepped off the boat. My parents survived forced labor camps curtesy of the Germans during WWII.

One time a black boy about my age, 5 or 6, approached me with what I assume to be his parents, one holding each hand, glaring at me.

The boy had to tears running down his face, as angry as I've seen anyone, to this day.

They stopped in front of me and the boy screamed "Whitey" at the very top of his lungs. I didn't know what that meant but could tell it was supposed to hurt my feels, so I calmly called him "whitey" back.

The result was stupendous. Holding onto his parents hands, his feet were actually higher in the air than his head was. Flipped the **** out.

That was my introduction to race relations.

Fun times.

And the law is quite clear, illegal immigrants are not allowed to own or possess firearms.

When it comes to firearms, then "illegal" should be clearly stated when one is involved.

Funny thing is, I am 58 years old and can't think of ever hearing of anything like that, let alone somebody being called a "DP".

Especially since I remember my community opening their arms in 1975 and 1976 to the "Boat People" from Vietnam. My school suddenly had a dozen students, who spoke little to no English. We did not tease them, we embraced and supported them and they are now as "American" as I am.

We had foreign exchange students as well, two guys from Chile, a girl from West Germany, and one from Sweden.

No, of course not. Not many people outwardly behave as she did. Yet over the years I had heard comments which were anti immigrant especially from those who had no idea that I was an immigrant. Having come here at a very young age I never had an accent and if I pronounce my last name in an Anglican way many people assume I am of Scottish origin and that is as good as “American “ with them. Ever since the illegal crises came about and there was a massive fore giving of illegals circa Reagan , he is not solely to blame we ignored the illegal crises until it was impossible to round them all up I have noticed that tolerance of immigrants is less. I said this before but many people lash out and say all immigrants not just illegals need to “go back where they came from”.

Hell there are some illegals that live next door to some relatives of mine. Been there for decades. Our families are close.

 

To be honest, that does not matter.

He was drunk, an shooting in his own yard. One must never mix alcohol and firearms, and unless you live out in the middle of nowhere should never me shooting in your own yard.

However, one thing I am immediately reminded of is the fact that the DC Beltway Sniper also had complaints that he was shooting in his own backyard in a suburban neighborhood. In fact, it was the bullets recovered from his backyard that helped put a needle in his arm.

But on top of it, he was an illegal deported multiple times. And as such he had no legal right to possess a firearm. That is clear, plain and simple, black and white. It is a felony for an illegal alien to possess firearms. Period.

And I bet if he had shot nobody and arrested for this, he would never have been charged for that felony gun charge and simply deported again so he could join the revolving door at the border.
