A 90-year-old California woman has been fired from her volunteer role at the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society after 60 years because she “did not understand pronouns.”
    https://www.breitbart.com/health/20...sclerosis-society-not-understanding-pronouns/

“I was confused. I didn’t know what it was and what it meant,” she said, recalling how she reacted when a group representative asked her to use pronouns in her email signature.

“I had seen it on a couple of letters that had come in after the person’s name. But I didn’t know what it meant,” the elderly woman continued. “So when I finally talked to her, I asked what it meant… And she said that meant they were all inclusive, which didn’t make sense to me.”

Why wouldn’t this lady just put she/her in her signature? Does she truly need to understand the “why” of a company policy in order to add the 7 characters to her signature?

I sure could have used this information when my company was getting into the Philippines and India 25 years ago. There’s no way to know with some names, what the gender is, until someone informs you.

The “They/them” thing is stupid, but it is what it is. If it’s company policy, just add the stupid pronouns and forget it’s there. Move on with your day and life.

What a nutty world we live in.

She was confused (her words) it didn't make sense to her (her words) hence she could not perform her job.

Her job is to have pronouns in a signature? That's a reason to fire someone? You know this concept of needing to specify she/her is relatively new. You really expect that BS from a 90 year old? SAD!

The job is what the boss/company says the job is. If that includes a signature formatted in a specific way, then that’s part of the job.

I had a specific format for my work signature for 20 years. They changed it periodically. We just changed it and moved on with our day. No biggie.

It seems “refused,” is the more accurate description of what happened here. Typing “she/her” isn’t confusing.

“You want my gender in my signature? Ok… “ She can roll her eyes and be confused.

When one is trying to raise money from the public it is best to address the public in a way that does not offend potential doners.

It is confusing. especially to a 90 yr old. We made it through centuries without needing this extra info in signatures. This is not a reason to fire someone. Its nice to see ya'll have no respect or sympathy for your elders

    SHAME!!!!

How is not including pronouns in your own signature offensive to anyone else? That is not the same as misgendering. SAD!!!!!!!

I agree it's not a reason to fire someone. But adding pronouns, while silly, is NOT confusing. If it is confusing then maybe there is more going on that we don't know about.

Its a real shame to see the left has resorted to bullying innocent 90 year old ladies now. Truly a dark day in American history. (specifically Commifornian history)

As opposed to spending your days outraged at what a stranger post on a political forum?

    Irony

I can't imagine spending my days scrutinizing the email signatures of 90 year old volunteer workers to be outraged over the signature missing STUPID, UNNECESSARY, EXTRA GRAMMAR in it. My lord...smfh

stupid, sounds like they need to fire the Karen that whined about using her pronouns - only narcissists do that stuff, and to a 90-year-old women?

does she\her mean male being a she, does it mean a female being a she, I think many older people are confused, especially when they say their pronoun is "they", multiple personalities?

people can be what ever they want, but getting angry at people for not getting your new pronoun rules, give me a break

    List Of Gender Pronouns
Unfortunately, we can’t provide an exhaustive list of all pronouns, as people come up with new pronouns all the time. Here is an incomplete list of some of the most commonly used gender pronouns today:

Strawman argument? You didn't present any argument.

Whats worse? Complaining about a news article, or complaining about a person who is complaining about a news article?

Lets take this 1 step further. Am I ---- Complaining about a person who's complaining about a person who's complaining about a news article?

    My head hurts!

Unfortunately, the world she grew up in no longer exists. They should have just helped her and moved on. Firing her does make it appear that helping people with this disease is not a top priority.
