If that happens, you can thank Trump for it. And then, as always, it will be up to us progressives to fix it. Come to think of it, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to form a truly progressive party. The Democratic Party has been pulled too far to the right in the last couple of decades. Maybe because of all the RINOs that have abandoned the Republican Party. But we DO need to retake the ideals of LBJ and FDR. A new progressive party inspired by those would be great for the country.
Actually, Dems are trying to prevent another Trump presidency in order to hold on to the freedoms we have.
Your hyper-partisan paranoia fails to discredit the reality. The charges were filed before the fraudster filed for candidacy.
What truth is this covering up? Doesn't Natty Bumpo have a right to support the Democratic Party? If you deny people that we will end up with a one party country. The two cases in question have concluded, now the law should be followed.
Democrats support bills to do away with voter ID which means their votes can vote multiple times, be illegal aliens or not be residents of the district where they are voting. They also want to fast track the illegals who are entering the country now to citizens. Some Democrats now let non citizens vote in local elections. The latest is in Washington, DC. If the Democrats control the House, Senate and White House, they will pass that bill, and they will be in power forever with no opposition. They will control all media including the right to free speech. Look at what they are doing with the justice system. The Democrats have morphed into a totalitarian party.
The radicalized left will never admit that Trump has been subjected to a long line of investigations and charges based 100% of electioneering Trump from the race. Just like they will never admit Trump didn't say "drink bleech" or that his bloodbath statement was taken out of context for political motives. Either they are so partisan, they simply don't care, or they are so propagandized and can't see simple reality. Those are really the only two options.
What freedoms did you lose during Trump’s first term? During those years the left constantly bitched about losing freedoms but they never told us what freedoms they were bitching about.
If true, why wasn't he charged with a crime? You're saying Leticia could have charged him but chose not to?
I am going to assume you believe in a nation with laws. Are you saying laws should not apply to Trump or are you saying we need to change existing laws for everyone? 1. Are you saying NO ONE should have to post a bond to cover the judgement when appealing a case or just Trump? I am sure others have been impacted by this too. 2. Are you saying that NO ONE should be charged with victimless crimes or only Trump? Do you think we should get rid of crimes or fines for things like prostitution, speeding, gambling, drug possession, trespassing etc... If you only want the laws changed for Trump you won't get my support but if you want to petition to change existing laws for everyone I say more power to you. I may even agree with some of the changes.
Not only was he charged, he was convicted. No, but he must pay his fines. Perhaps he could sell a golf course or a building or two. He can easily cover this if he wishes.
No, it's justice. Trump abusing the election system in order to avoid prison is election interference.
There's the threat! If you hold Trump accountable for his crimes then people who never respected the judicial system in the first place will be unhappy. Perhaps you could bring this up with McConnell, and all those court cases Trump lost in 2020/2021 trying to steal the election. When the criminal loses, it's ALWAYS because of corrupt judges, corrupt LE and soon for Trump, the corrupt Prison system. Prisons are just chock full of innocent men.
I live in Florida...Republican Govenor and Republican Legislature. We have lost a lot of freedoms: We have had elected Democratic officials removed from office and replaced with Republicans by the Govenor. In my city we have lost control of the city owned power company by having the board of directors appointed by the city council replaced by officials appointed by the Govenor. Officials that don't even live in the city. Laws have been passed that do not allow anyone under 16 to go onto social media sites without written permission from parents and children under 14 cannot access them even with parental permission. Much stronger laws make choosing to have an abortion almost impossible. Schools and Universities have been told what history they can not teach. Voting drop boxes have been limited to one per county even though the Governor claims there has been no fraud during his tenure. Teachers must address their students with the pronoun matching their birth gender, not their preferred one. Books have been removed from classrooms, school libraries, and public libraries. All diversity and equity programs have been removed from the State University, businesses can no longer require employees to attend diversity training. Trans gender can not be mentioned in school in grades K-8.
I've never lived anywhere that had a city controlled power company, so I can't speak to the benefits or concerns of what you wrote. Regarding the age restrictions, plenty of things have them, buying booze, getting a driver's license, getting into an R rated movie, and I believe even buying certain video games. When you say schools and universities have been told what history to teach, are you referring to public schools that get government money? Same thing with diversity - that stuff is evil and divisive. In both cases what's being taught is that there is a victim class and an oppressor class. If the races were reversed regarding the ideology being taught I'm sure there would be some very unhappy people. Banning books is the same as censoring Tweets - both are the thoughts of people. Tranny stuff has no place in school, none whatsoever. Also, none of what you mentioned was done by Trump. I don't want to sound snarky, but the left seems to like government control until they don't.
It probably has some impact but it is not interference. It is considered political give and take, possibly dirty tricks, or political opposition. But a congressional or legislative investigation is not interference in an election even if it has purely political motivations. Otherwise the House spent four years doing nothing but interfering in the 2020 election They investigated Trump 10 ways from Sunday. But no justice department should ever never directly attempt to influence an election like NY State is doing now (and for that matter the DOJ, the State of GA, and the city of NY) -- that is interference.
Please read the posts. If someone shoots AT someone he commits a crime even if he missed. It is called assault if not attempted murder. Even if the shootee doesn't realize it, it is a crime because attempted murder and assault are crimes against the state even though there is a victim involved. On the other hand the crime of fraud requires someone who has actually been defrauded (which can include a state or government entity) whether it is criminal or civil. There was no one defrauded in Trump's case hence it is a civil, not a criminal trial. You may fall back on, "well the banks say they weren't defrauded but they made that up just to please Trump" but that is your own delusions that I can't help.
