I follow politics pretty closely, as you do, and the number one thing I see dividing america right now is the lies and sensationalism created by the media. Now Im not saying the left media is the best, but the thing that fascinates me, and I really believe is driving the end of their great experiment, is Fox News. The fairness doctrine required not only "equal time", it also required truth in political advertising and in political news coverage. When that went out the window, the floodgates to the end of democracy were seeded. We are at a point where, yes, the media stokes it, but the masses eat up that confirmation bias, and thats all they want to ingest. Now I know both sides do it, but I dont think anyone can honestly say that Fox News isnt driving this to a new level. When they paid a Billion $$$ fine, and admitted they were lying to you, and then when the court case came and the talking heads (Tucker, Ingram, Hannity etc) texts were released, and they told you all that they knew they were lying to you, yet their rating all went up, I knew the end was near for this great experiment in democracy. Hell all of them still, not only have platforms, but they are still lying and their ratings are going UP. And to be fair, their audience isn't liberals

I remember Obama, y’all had no issues calling him and anyone that supported him every name in the book. It was never really a mainstream position of “the left” to antagonize the right, sure it happened but that wasn’t the entire party platform.

That is about all republicans stand for anymore.

 

I realize the right has their media, but the left appears to have more reach. They own Hollywood. Taxes were chasing movie production out, but they got a special deal to stay. My wife is working on getting full disability, the state doesn't tax, but the feds do !!! And if she get the full benefit ($3200 per month), 85% of that is taxable AS INCOME !!!! YES, taxes are out of hand, but BOTH SIDES do it......
