Crimea went back to Russia. The people there made their choice. No way it will go back to Ukraine. Only in your wet yellow dreams. Donetsk and Lugansk have been so much bombed by Ukrainian army since 2014 that they have no desire to go back to Ukraine. So yes, Eastern part of Ukraine is pro-Russian. I think it is debatable whether Crimea ever left Russia.
Crimea was part of the Russian Empire from 1783
when Sevastopol was founded to 1917
Crimea was in the Soviet Union from 1921 to 1991
Crimea was the Republic of Crimea from 1991 to 1995
Crimea was then put under the authority of Ukraine in 1995
with Sevastopol leased by Russia from 1997 to 2010,
the lease was subsequently extended to 2042
The US changed the Ukrainian government in Feb 2014
and Crimea refused to accept the new US chosen govt
and left Ukraine altogether.

So it could be argued that Crimea was part of Ukraine from
1995 to 2014, but it could also be argued that Ukraine left it
and not the other way around, if you look into the details.

As per my second point though there might be legal grounds for the Poles to shoot down Russian missiles in Ukrainian air space with prior agreement from Ukraine in circumstances where there is a risk the missiles concerned were likely to strike dangerously close to the Polish border or indeed possible breach it inadvertently. But that's a very narrow set of circumstances and would only apply to strikes strikes in a narrow corridor of land along the length of the Polish Ukrainian border.

So as I said the impact even then on Russia's prosecution of the war would be marginal at best. Poland won't be shooting down missile approaching Kiev. Hence this is basically a non-issue
