https://apnews.com/hub/israel-hamas-war Israel is currently under attack by Iran. Iran has fired missiles and sent armed drones. They claim this is the first wave. So far, no missiles have reached the ground. The ones that our forces were unable to shoot down are being handled by Israel's Iron Dome. This is an international war now. I assume many of you are watching ... your thoughts?
I'm pretty sure that "Biden and Blinken and Austin" told Iran not to attack any U.S. facilities or interests.
I think we'll need to see satellite evidence of any damage to IDF infrastructure before knowing how successful last night's strike was. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024...ver-300-drones-missiles-what-you-need-to-know "Where exactly did the attacks take place? "During the attack, Israel’s military ordered residents in the northern Israeli-occupied Golan Heights – near the Syrian and Lebanese borders – and in the southern cities of Nevatim, Dimona and Eilat to remain near bomb shelters. Nevatim is the site of an Israeli airbase, while Dimona has a nuclear reactor on the outskirts. Eilat is Israel’s southern Red Sea port, which has suffered from a sharp decline in operations because of repeated attacks by Yemen’s Houthis on ships passing through the waterway." By at least two accounts I've read, multiple Iranian missiles struck the airbase at Nevatim (which may have been where the planes that struck the consulate in Syria were launched.) https://www.i24news.tv/en/news/isra...-hermon-bases-were-iran-s-main-targets-report
Didn’t think Iran would be dumb enough to risk open conflict and risk their nuclear program being blown to hell but given that nukes is their goal and they can’t be allowed to have them, war is already guaranteed and the only question is when and under what circumstances. Is this a good enough pretext? Probably not, but certainly good enough to raise the ante by deteriorating Iranian assets and proxies in the region. imo
Hopefully Bibi won't act more moronic than he usually acts, and will not escalate this further. Iran said they consider the attack on the embassy closed with this symbolic retaliation. This should be the end of it, and negotiations should begin.
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/live...ve-killed-in-nuseirat-as-israel-strikes-camps "The US ruled out joining any Israeli counterattack against Iran, officials said, as Israel’s war cabinet concluded a meeting reportedly without a decision on what action to take in response to Tehran’s first direct attack against the country. Israeli forces again bombed the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, killing five and wounding dozens as the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) met to discuss Iran’s retaliatory strikes against Israel." If Biden actually told Netanyahu the US will not participate in any offensive operations against Iran and will not support such operations, the word "offensive" requires explicit definition; would another IDF invasion of southern Lebanon (possibly provoked by a false flag incident) be anything the US would not support? https://history.state.gov/milestone...8, Reagan signed,an expanded MNF if necessary.
It is longer than that. The toots of their angst/ anger are deep& entrenched . No one really has any influence on this area.. so when some infer Biden is at fault is rather senseless. The region operates on BELLIEFS , not reason or logic , let alone humanitarian principles.
Hope you are right. And even if that is the case, I suspect that it will be short term. The pattern of quiet and violence has been established and easily triggered.
