well the one time I was mugged, I did. bad luck for the mugger. and I almost never carried because I was usually on university property where it was not allowed. My duty as a private citizen is to myself and my family.

Well, in our experience and that of other countries with gun “bans” in place mostly the criminals use the guns on each other. And this is the thing - outer victim rate is not more than yours, but our gun death rate is way way lower

 

Hang on this isn’t making sense. At the time of 9/11 America was still way more “armed” than either the UK or Aus and if we have had a similar incident I must have been asleep. As for “fighting for safety” WTF are you talking about? In this recent incident in Australia the perp was confronted with someone welding a bollard, he was chased by not just the armed cop who was there within minutes but also others including a guy with a plastic chair. They weren’t cowering I. A corner waving guns they were going to stop him no matter what
