The Looming Ukraine Debacle

No, I can't predict the future.

Washington's neocons planned to draw Russia into a
war in Ukraine and to 'bleed Russia white', and then
do a regime change in Russia and gain access to the
world's largest natural gas reserves.

With a GDP of 13 times that of Russia, and a military
expenditure even more in excess the US thought it
would be an easy victory, and the world would apply
sanctions to cut off Russian access to resources.

And if that wasn't enough then NATO would be called
in as well, giving about 30 times the GDP of Russia.

But it hasn't worked out that way, at least so far, and
nobody seems interested in why.

 

The basic story is easy to understand: Russia has subjected Russia to an unprovoked invasion.

 

Yeah that's the basic western-programmed group think.

Which has nothing to do with reality.

Meanwhile, even the ukrop azovs don't want to be made into sausage. Surrendering en masse and refusing to follow orders.

Running out of bodies is a less optimistic scenario .. The moral is low ..the few well trained battalion refusing orders to fight .. the rest looking for chance to surrender .. currently in full on retreat mode .. nary a happy thing to report sans the occasional terrorist attack.. the only happy part of the story which turns out to be unhappy as the retaliation for these terrorist attacks is 10 X --- more harm to the poor Ukrainians

Currently --the remnants of the Ukraine army are in retreat .. Hopefully this Arms surge can at least stop the home team from going backwards ..maybe put up some kind of defense for a short time .. Yet to see but for now they running backwards.

My take on this is different. I believe that Putin thought Ukraine would be easy to conquer. When it turned out not to be, he thought he could not back out while saving face.

 

Ukraine had an army of 680,000 NATO trained and armed soldiers.

Nobody would call that easy.

The reason V Putin moved in some forces, nothing like enough to
take over a country, was to protect Donetsk.

This single package amounts to an entire Year of Russian Military Budget which is ~ 60 Billion.
