You put your trust in an 'experience'. Nothing more. Many things have been done, good and bad, by god telling people what to do. And many are quite sincere in their belief. Does that make them right?

Why does a god need to grow truth?

Yes I use practical science, not speculative science regarding the origin of man. I was born, not evolved. I have a birth certificate as proof.
Do you have a birth certificate for your ancestral father 100,000 years ago. Did he sign it or put his thumbprint on it.

But how did you understand it, unless you have seen it or heard it or felt it, like Abraham did as described in Genesis 18 when he shared a meal with a god and had a face to face discussion about the number of righteous children in Gomorrah?

The 10 commandments are nothing more that a way to live according to the Jewish God. Every early civilisation had its own 'commandments' given by their respective gods.
Hammurabi had a code which he tells us was given him by his god Marduk. You can read the code and the preamble online. UrNammu had its own code, as did others, mostly attributed to a 'god'. Modern countries have their own commandments. Obviously much more complicated due to modern life. Laws.

God sent his spirit to me. And I remembered his spirit. Long story short...God is real. He is our Father. If there is a heavenly Mother, I don't know. But it would make sense.

No, his people had to grow in truth. As they grow, he gives new commands. And if they digress, he adjusts. At least, that's how it appears to me. His people are referred to as a vineyard in which his servants labor. His servants are the prophets, patriarchs, priests, etc.

I can only speak for myself. I don't trust an experience. I trust the living God because he has proven himself to me, and left a part of himself in my heart of hearts. I don't expect you to just believe me, only to take it into consideration. Even if you believed me, you still wouldn't know it. At best, you could only repeat what I said. And that would be gossip. Only God has the power to make himself known to man, and the wisdom to know when is the right season in a persons life to do so.

IOW a man was not created in his image and likeness (Genesis 1:26-27), but shares a common ancestor with chimps.

And what type of spirit was it? I make nocino from mine.
And what does your god look like, and does he have blue or brown eyes?
And Genesis 1:26-27 describes a meeting between a number of gods and goddesses, and how they discussed creating a bloke in the image and likeness of the male creator god, and creating a sheila presumably in the image and likeness of a goddess such as Asherah.

And the laws from the aboriginal dreaming time predate the biblical commandments by thousands of years.

But the sinner does not realize the action is being directed by God. Therefore the choice is still evil.
It would be like someone who agrees to smuggle drugs, but it's an undercover sting operation and the drugs are fake. Or attempted murder.
Or those silly pitiful men who showed up on Chris Hansen's show To Catch Predator, thinking they were going to have sex with a 13-year-old.

Do we as a society say they are not accountable, because after all it was all just a setup?

You trust an 'experience'. Without it you would never believe what you do now.

Priests are manmade appointments as you said when quoting the Catholic Church. And this applies to the number of clergy in other denominations who are leaving their faith.

I know what rape is today vs yesterday and 20 yrs ago.
The definition of rape has changed. Why? There's subjectivity built into it and society changes and women got a larger voice in society.

That is the truth of what I said. I saw no truth in what you said.
The fact that the definition and laws regarding rape have changed over the years is not an excuse. That is fact and is prove by the laws that govern rape.

What is it about facts that elude you?

I am waiting on clarification on my question.
I don't have to resent my father nor do I need to be forced to obey.

I fail to see a correlation between obedient and resent.

If sin wasn't created, there'd be no reason to create redemption and forgiveness.

Seems rather silly things to invent.

Since I've never seen a god I've no reason to believe otherwise.

I guess that rules out the claim of that god being omniscient.

Jolly Penguin said: "In this sense, sin is disobedience to ultimate power. The Christian conflation of moral goodness with obedience to power always rubbed me the wrong way."

To which I responded: " I think that obedience to God begins with loving God."

And you chimed in: "No one should have to be obedient to a loving thing. Ever. Obedience is control and fear. Love is kindness and wants."

So I asked you, " Do you resent your Father."

    My logic seems self evident.

You are saying there is no such thing as theft, rape and murder because that which constitutes the crime is enlarged or added to by reason over time. That makes it subjective in your opinion and not a matter of conscience. But were that the case, there would be no crime of rape in the first instance, and thus no category to contain the increase which you deem subjective. So to you there is no such thing as right and wrong. The character of that tact speaks for itself.
